What is your car? Because I don't know of a 2.0L turbo that does what you say and gets the same EPA mileage as the Twins.

Keep in mind it depends on how sophisticated (read: expensive to build) an engine is, too. No doubt the FA20 could get better mileage and/or more power, but at what cost? A lot more than you're paying now! Sacrifices.

And I keep forgetting you guys are only looking at the manual MPG. My bad. There are quite a few cars that get close to the manual Twins' EPA MPG. But how many can get 42 MPG?

The scion rep in Ottawa tonight mentioned that he got 6.6 l/100km ==> 35 MPG while cruising on highway with 118 KM/h ==> 73.3 MPH while running on Octane 94 (AKI). Just another number from another rep.

Have you ever driven a high powered FWD vehicle without an LSD? Torque steer is a bitch. Without the Stage 1, it was not so bad. With the Stage 1, it is a bit ridiculous. |

My mileage has improved. I'm getting around 2 MPG more with the the Stage 1 upgrade from GM. I've been getting around 24-25 MPG and if I had to guess at percentages, I'd say that it's roughly 80% city and 20% highway driving.

I don't think anything could ever beat my two previous daily drivers.
I just got rid of my 95 honda civic lx sedan (I'm gonna miss that car) and that thing got great fuel mileage. Doing all highway I would get from 34-38mpg depending on certain days and the mood I'm in (65mph or 75mph). But I usually averaged about 33-34mpg combined. Before the civic lx sedan, I had an ultra rare supremely fuel efficient 92 civic vx. I'm still in regret for not keeping that car! I once did 52mpg in that car. That car is so unbelievable on gas that it's dubbed a "Prius killer" by gas saving cultist. I normally averaged from 42-45mpg in that car. Sadly, the body rotted out and had no choice but to get rid of it. The engine purred like a kitten though at around 320,000kms. I should've at least stripped it and kept all the rare Vx parts... smh! The frs will be a significant jump for me in fuel costs. Especially since now I have to fill up on premium. It will definitely be worth it though ![]() As for the MR2... I don't even see a point in trying to count lol.

My last car was a ST185 RC with a long distance fuel tank, somewhere in the system there was a leak, with the leak and that 3SGTE I was getting around 11mpg, so yes the 86 is a huge improvement!
Just wish it had a bigger fuel tank. |
