I found that post. So what have I done to the engine/supercharger running without that connected? Mine came broken just like in post #3819

No clue but I'd get that fixed ASAP

Was wondering if you saw my post.... They really should add a note to take off the tower supports..... Depending on the butterfly position you have either been running under some boast even at idle, or you have a massive leak because that valve is open. Either way, definitely stop driving the car and call sprintex to get a replacement - you will need a 6mm and 5mm Allen socket to get it off and back on

My sprintex kit has only been on for a week and I've noticed an annoying high pitched squeak that is most audible at low throttle and low rpm. The sound increases (in pace but not volume) with revs/speed but then disappears once the engine is fully warmed.

Is this a symptom of idler pulley failure, or something else?

check your belt tension , if its a toothed belt it does not need to be super tight like v belt, hopefully you were given tension specs.

a large\long screwdriver can be used as a stethoscope to find noises and crook bearings. crook bearing generally make a grating sound. listen to some good ones first to get the idea of what it sounds like.

stick the metal blade end on or near the bearing\pulley\area you want to listen to , then stick your ear on the plastic handle end. Will consentrate the sound so you can work out where th noise is comming from. obviously be carefull not to stick it to close to moving belts ect.

if you think its an air leak squirt some soapy water on pipe connections ect and look for any bubbles.

did you hose clamp all the lines on\under the intake maifold

You cannot adjust the tension. We have an auto tensioner on these cars, and there are no toothed belts. All the rest is good advice though.

@whataboutbob @stockysnail

When you guys replaced the idler pulley, was it just the one directly below the charger pulley, or did you also replace the one below the A/C pulley?

Down and left of supercharger, down and right from alternator, above belt tension pulley. I haven't got mine in the mail yet however.

yes its the pulley that you have to add to run the supercharger in the first place.

If I were to install an aftermarket wideband O2 sensor/gauge, that sits in place of if factory rear O2 sensor, does my tuner need to recalibrate the tuned map to account for the new sensor?

Or can I just install it and run without any adjustments to the tune?

the rear O2 only monitors the cat...you wouldn't need to adjust the tune but he would have to turn off the code that would be associated with unplugging the rear o2 sensor.

So yes you can just install it and run it, but you will have a CEL.

regarding the pulleys, honestly I have a squeak and I have replaced that idler pulley. I'm fairly certain its coming from the alternator but it comes and goes so I haven't bothered really examining it lol
