How does this feel now vs when you just had the Mtec springs?

I should clarify- I installed the Mtec springs after the Perrin rear shifter bushing, so I can't say for certain. The Mtec springs did a great job of 2-3nd and 4th-5th transitions and overall helped with that 'springy', sporty neutral side to side feel.

The shift setup was hard when cold before the TRD Quickshifter. The Motul is to blame for that- fantastic, amazing feeling oil once warmed up but is very notchy and hard to shift when cold.

The TRD Quickshifter has just exacerbated this notchy and hard-to-shift feeling when cold, as it should given what the geometry changes are. When warm, good lord it feels significantly better and more enjoyable than before

Running Motul 300 in the transmission as well and am having the same stiff feel on my first few shifts in the morning. Good to hear that you're liking the TRD kit so far, I'll have to check out the springs sometime soon.

Springs are awesome- highly recommend going with the best practice of rubbing a tiny bit of brake cleaner on the threads for that 27mm (or whatever) passenger side bolt & scraping off some of the locktite, as well as cleaning the threads of the bolt before re-install. That part was the only hard one, but after cleaning the threads it tightened right in no cross threading

I had read somewhere that the Perring shifter bushing and the TRD quickshifter are not compatible with each other. Is this true or what have you observed?

I'm in the middle of determining that right now. I drove approximately 80 miles with the TRD Quickshifter + Perrin shifter bushing since the install last night. My problems seem to indicate so, but we won't know for certain until I swap out the perrin. I am going to put in the Quickshifter bushing tonight after work and check back in with you guys

What is the "-3/4" Slave Cylinder (Ultramaroon's slave cylinder swap)" ? I haven't heard of that. What does it do? I agree with your comments on your other mods as they are my experience as well.

It's beautiful.. straight up the best $50 I've ever spent on the driveline. Big ups @Ultramaroon

TRD Quickshifter and Perrin bushing issue resolved! My first post about this issue will be updated.

Swapping out the perrin for the kit mount and bushing eliminated the shifter linkage/driveline collision. Shifting is crisp, smooth, and QUICK. 5th and 6th feel stock throw surprisingly, but 1st through 4th... goooood lord what a difference. Even helped out with 2nd being a bitch when cold. Clocked 50 miles on the shifter post install where I tried hard braking in every gear- acceleration, slamming the bugger in there etc; care was still used to hopefully not break anything

Here's some pics taken with a potato that probably won't convey the point..

TRD Quickshifter and Perrin installed, to confirm I'm not pulling your leg

Ultra-detailed high fidelity breakdown of the issue area

You can barely make out the place where the linkage rod and knuckle of the driveline were rubbing. In person you can most definitely make out the place where they rubbed- bare steel on the rod and little knick of paint off the tip curls of each knuckle

--

Fully recommend this piece. Confirms what most others who installed it correctly (everyone but myself and @stockysnail apparently haha) have to say about it. Very smooth, OEM feel. Short shifts, smooth and buttery gates.. more force needed, but not excessive.

Will update after a couple thousand miles seat time with it

Glad you took the time to figure it out. I had an aluminum drive shaft when I put the quick shifter in and though it was that considering I couldn't even get my car to move the shaft was hitting so bad. I was tired of trying to deal with it after putting the oem drive shaft back in, nor did I want to deal with removing my perrin shift bushing. Plus I only had one car back then. Congrats.

Interesting mod. I removed the spring that attaches to the pedal which I thought worked wonderfully in being able to get the clutch to feel like a normal clutch in that I can feel the clutch grabbing point much easier. I say people should try removing the spring first and if still not enough for them then do the 3/4 slave.

Here's the DIY for the spring removal. Best 15 minute mod ever!

You can feel the clutch grab much better with the smaller slave.

Removing the spring just makes the pedal heavier.
