i did this today coming home from work, set it at 4100 and heard it no problem. that's funny how the beep is a feature, but the only time you'd want to hear it, you can't haha. i was really trying to listen for it yesterday at 7100 too, but couldn't hear anything.

my car is loud inside from my exhaust, extra road noise from bigger stickier tires and stiffer suspension, but when i ask my gf if she can hear my ok thru the bluetooth, she said it sounds normal like any other car. i think our bluetooth mic does a pretty decent job filtering out ambient noise... it's just that to us inside the car, it seems loud. sometimes she tells me i need to lower my voice cuz it sounds like im shouting, but i only do that cuz i cant hear myself think hahah

I have the same issue - I've considered getting something like this to help - http://www.shopandroid.com/motorola-...e/3AA18234.htm but I haven't done much research into it, so I don't know much about that other than just discovering that link the other day.

I had to order breakfast to-go on my way to work yesterday, and between the road noise and my exhaust, the individual on the phone was very frustrated with having to take my order lol

I'll pile on to defend the hands-free. Works fine - sounds great.

I have a muffler delete and if I get on the gas people I'm speaking to can hear it but under normal conditions they can not.

Works perfectly for me. Here's what it's like in my experience...

<Call comes in, I answer>
Wha? Who's this. Wait, gotta downshift into 2nd.
<Engine purrs as 2nd is engaged and sharp turn is taken>
So, who's this again?
<Smile on driver's face as back-end drifts a bit, aggressive engine roar during acceleration>
Is this you on the phone sweatheart?
<2nd to 3rd shift, growing engine roar again>
Hold on a sec, gotta flip the bird to this asshole who just cut me off.
<Driver watches Lexus disappear in rear view mirror - smiles again>
Hey, there's a Twin. Need to catch up. One more sec...
<Redlining engine roar as Driver gives thumbs up to another FR-S owner - gets a smile and a thumbs-up in return>
Hey honey, I gotta go, a little too busy right now.
<Driver hangs-up call as he enters twisty mountainous roads in Northern Maryland, dry conditions, new set of tires to try out. Smile continues>

Yep, that bluetooth phone connection is awesome!

Merry Christmas!

Describes about 98% of my calls to a tee! Except the other twin part as I have only seen one while driving mine.

Don't have the time to read all 16 pages here, but I wanted to share a feature that I never realized was there.

I listen to netcasts when I commute using Pocket Casts on my phone - great app. Whenever a commercial break comes up, I reach for my phone, turn it on, get to the app and hit the "skip" button. It's a PIA.

Just accidentally learned that the "Scroll" knob skips the audio either forward or backward. No more fumbling around with the phone. Nice.

Hope this helps someone else.

For those with AT, you can still up/down shift with the paddles when not in manual mode
