Racecomp's PRI (Performance Racing Industry) trade show recap

RCE went to Indianapolis last week to attend the PRI trade show. It's similar to SEMA but different in that there's much more of a motorsports flavor. Everything from circle track to Formula 1 to touring cars...all good functional stuff. Myles went to SEMA this year as well and that's still a good show, but PRI is a more focused event for us.

We had a few things we set out to accomplish and we did, but we were also able to just browse and connect with some of the guys and girls we usually just talk on the phone with. Also a good time to chat with engineers at the top level of motorsports.

Here are a few noteworthy items:
1. Bilstein has a 2 way Clubsport level coilover available that sounds like a good system. We are hoping to test it this year.
2. Ohlins TTX. Cool.
3. We're working on Ohlins to bring back an item that we were big fans of a while back. It's a long shot though.
4. JRZ has some neat stuff as usual. They may have some changes coming up in the future.
5. Tons of 2015 Mustang suspension parts. Got some good looks at the new rear suspension. I think I like that car.
6. The current BMW Z4 racecar gets my nod for the best "meh" street car turned into an absolutely breathtaking racecar.
7. The Deltawing racecar looks even more like a penis in real life than in pictures.
8. Myles went to the KW factory in Germany this summer but for me this was a good opportunity to meet some of their engineers in person. Good people.
9. Saw the occasionally mentioned Sachs coilovers for BRZ/FRS in person. Unfortunately all the engineers in their booth were F1 level dudes so they didn't have details. Their clutches for the F1 cars are pretty cool though.
10. AP Racing's new radical calipers will be a nice little upgrade over their old ones. I believe Essex is switching over to those soon.
11. Stoptech also has some cool higher end stuff coming.
12. Indianapolis has good food if you like red meat.
13. I want to use the Hyperco carbon bellow springs sometime. They are awesome.
14. We've got some cool stuff coming in 2015. Stay tuned.

- Andy

If I just dropped almost 2 grand CAD only to find out that money could have been better spent in a few months I'm gonna be pissed!!

Oh, and Santa arrived in the form of a FedEx truck just a few minutes ago. I'll be in touch for recommended setup in a few months when I get my car out of storage. Thanks for the help in selecting the right parts.

What you've got now is where it's at so don't worry.

So Ohlins is going to finally commit to the TTX and Bilstein is going for the Club Sport? I was egging them on last year for not bringing them out sooner!

I think I'm missing something here. What's the big deal about fixed perch struts?
