Please go into more mechanical detail on why you think this. Either A. The suspension doesn't work the way you think it does B.You have the terminology mixed up. Just trying to help people understand. |

So, what I believe so far, if you want a softer ride and you have a BRZ with stock suspension, install stock FR-S suspension instead and slightly taller tires, (225/45/17), and if you have an FR-S with stock suspension, and you want a softer ride, just get slightly taller tires. |

Second, lets read the MotoIQ article that you linked to: http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticl...cion-fr-s.aspx "The rear suspension is very similar to the GE Subaru Impreza, being a somewhat unremarkable multilink. The suspension has toe in under roll, a moderate amount of camber gain under roll and a bit of anti squat in the geometry." Like many cars, the rear of the car toes in under compression. Third, this has nothing to do with ride quality and nothing to do with the handling difference between FR-S and BRZ since geometry is the same. The difference is the spring rates, which are mildly stiffer in the rear and mildly softer in the front for the FR-S. Both are bumpstop active at the front and rear. Both cars ride and handle pretty well stock IMO. The difference in ride between the two is negligible. The difference in handling is subtle, but noticeable. If you want to improve ride for cheap, Bilstein B6 HDs and the right tire would be a good choice for smoothing out larger bumps. If you really want to, you could custom valve the Bilsteins for a little extra. - Andy |

Toe in = front of wheel points toward center of car Toe out = front of wheel points out from center of car In the rear, toe in generally makes the car more stable. Toe out generally makes it less stable. Also this is not really active steering as the amount toe change is small. |
