Best vented hood for front mounted turbo (FBM)?
I know there is a ton of info about vented hoods, but does anyone have an answer to which is the best vented hood for a front mounted turbo, in my case (near future) its for the FBM kit.
I live in a VERY hot place, so i know ill have to run with a vented hood... but there is TONS of options, and importing a hood to argentina isn't cheap, so i cant choose the wrong one. so far ive narrowed it to: VIS AMS style CB hood. Seibon FA style hood Seibon VS style or... the super expensive S-Craft carbon fiber hood frs brz... really agressive, but tons of money. last option would be carving the oem hood... which would be cheaper... but, dont know if it would look very good... Help me out!!! thanks!!! |

I've just received 2 x Seibon TS Style hoods from @ShowstoppersUSA
Being in South Africa our temps and humidity are high, so I needed to do the same and reduced engine temps. Hood took 15 minutes to install, quality outstanding On the functional side after install I let the car idle for 15 minutes and could feel the heat coming through the vents. I stuck pieces of paper to the vents and they were flapping around from the air flow out the vents while even idling. Whether the hood vents work while driving, will monitor the engine temps. |

My honest opinion is that there are much better heat management methods than a vented hood. I have the vis ams hood, front mount turbo, and not much change to temps. looks good though

The VIS AMS hood has lots of opening area, and I think comes with removable rain guards too. That's the hood i plan to get.
There are a couple other hoods that look good too. |

VIS AMS hood looks very functional... removable rain guards are a must, since i travel a lot, but also track the car a couple of times a year. @SilverSkyline210 that Varis hood looks sick... big a** vents!!!! Do you track your car? notice a big difference with the hood? Cant find a price for it anywhere... not cheap i imagine...
