I don't know that Blizzaks are a good comparison to regular tires. Mine are 205/55R. It feels a little more stable/planted into the corners, but a little more loose out of them (compared to stock). I kind of want to try out a summer tire in that size, just to find out what the characteristics would be.

Just ordered a set of 16x8 +25 Enkei Compe's. @GuerillaRacing car was enough motivation for me to do that, very looking forward to summer time

Basically you have more tire suspension, both vertically and laterally. More rolling comfort and more forgiving taking bumps in corners. More forgiving, progressive if you will, in communicating grip loss. More movement laterally also but in my opinion that helps feeling weight transfer easier. Less rotating inertia keeps the wheels down better and helps acceleration/braking. In theory the shoulder can roll over sooner but if you use the right tire for the purpose it's not a problem, the car isn't that heavy. AE86 and MX-5 have tracked successfully on 14"-15" for decades, and with the larger tire circumference for the ft86 platform, 16" is right up there. Plenty use 16" for tracking in Japan. This is NA, if you run FI then perhaps you need to run bigger because you need bigger brakes. Comments above are also disregarding tire width, easier to run wide on 17"+ but that can often be debated how necessary or functional that is esp. on NA cars. Much depends on track and ambient temperatures.

i run 205/55r16 rs3 on a 16x7 and it is a great combination. i wanted try a 205/50 but, i was dead set on the rs-3 and they dont make that size. on the 100r at fuji i can hold a steady 1.1 g, there is plenty of grip in this tire size.

I have 16x7.5 +50's on the car. net weight seems to be about the same as the stock wheels/tires. Overall diameter is about the same too because the snow tires on there are a higher profile.
I'm fairly happy with how it looks but I'll probably end up 18's when summer comes around

On the te37 16x7 with the lightest 205/55 tyres I saved a massive 6,2kg (14lbs) a corner compared to stock. But wasn't completely happy with that tyre, with a normal weight summer tyre the weight loss was 4,5 kg (10lbs) a corner and very pleased with that setup for DD and back road fun.

Got confirmation from Works JP that my wheels are made and are leaving soon.

16x8.5 +16 Meister CR01.

Was disappointed when I got my current set of Meisters. I got S1R's. Everyone said 9" wide +35 sat flush, but it didn't sit where I would consider flush. So have been running 15mm spacers all round have have been much happier with that. But its always annoyed me running spacers when I should have that as dish.

Since I've been getting rub on my swaybar from increased steering lock, I decided to go for the similar specs, but smaler overall diameter so I can get more lock. Want to stick with stock body lines.
