him: dude! Is that a Subaru?! awesome! me: yep. thanks him: is it AWD? me: nope ![]() him:well it looks cool as hell. me: kthxbai. and I make a slow getaway

Had 2 today!
First time was at a small electronic/game store (finishing up christmas shopping... ie not a good mood.) Was comparing these extendable battery packs for phones/ipods/ect and some guy rushes behind me and talks to the cashier. He asks the guys working if they owned the BRZ out front. He then goes to state... "I love the self-depreciating awarness the owner has on the car." The guys working shrug and let out a "huh?" expression. "The guys plate says no torque. Perfectly fitting for such a slow car worthless car. At least he admits it and it looks good... No amount of performance will save it despite what the license plate frame says..." "Its not one of our cars..." the worker replies. "Haha, Ok then." I assume he rushes out as I feel the draft as someone passes and exits the front door. I then glanced out the window and it was an older male, 40-50 who I assume was the one speaking. He gets into an suv and leaves. Not sure if I should check it as sweet ride or an insult. I was more than pissed when it happened but, more annoyed at the thought of having to talk/explain to this guy if I answered. The fucker apparently had enough of a look to read my plate, the perrin license plate frame but not the I ♡ Boost and FBM decal on the rear window... 2nd one for the day was a few hours ago. Was washing the car (since it is an amazingly hot 50* today "Yo man, thats a sweet whip. We should race sometime." I glance at my sister behind him and she is trying to signal for me to be nice. I reply under my breath, "Nah, you'd win," hoping to cut the conversation short so I don't loose brain cells and can hopefully get my interior detailed before sundown. He apparently takes this as an insult and procedes to blurt out his modzzz. I didn't really listen to everything he said as I imediatly fixated on the first line out of his mouth. word for word... "I've got a nismo K&N ram air that adds 60hp..." Even my sister has a look of an embarasment. She then grabs him and get in the car. They back up, not before the kid revs it continiusly before backing up... Needless to say I didn't even have enough time to finish vaccuuming the carpet before it went dark.

haha had a conversation with a guy at a fry shack last week,
asked the usual questions "how do you like the scion, is it fast?" then got asked a bunch about if it was the sport model ? i was like idn man 2013 only had one model afaik lol ended with "well its a cool looking car man" and caught some girl breaking her neck in traffic looking back at it on my way home that same day, (she may have got an accidental dirty look.. i was texting and looked up and instantly thought "wtf are you looking at" and it showed on my face before i could realize she was pretty and interested in the car oh well lol

I almost got sideswiped by some 20 something girl texting while driving just this afternoon. If I hadn't noticed the phone propped up on the wheel when I came up beside her she would have got me for sure. Sweet part was the cop behind me also got a good look at the phone and the fact she drifted halfway into my lane.

I've had several encounters. The best one was driving to work on I-79 when a dude in a Porsche 911 cruised next to me honking to get my attention gave me the thumbs up and yelled "nice ride!". When I worked in downtown Pittsburgh my car turned many heads. Still does even when it's dirty. Must be the RA flaps lol.

had a convo with my brother who bought a 2.0T Genesis after I bought my car. this was what happened after discussing why he went with the Genesis after considering a BRZ.
Me: ugh, you bought a Hyundai. Him: But it's faster than your car. Me: yeah but that's like bragging that your tranny GF is hotter than my GF who has always been a girl.

It's a car that was mostly about numbers. I was dying to test drive one, but when I did, it ended in disappointment. As I've said before, I'll take my slow Subaru any day over the Genesis.

(For reference, it was a 2014 2.0T R-spec) "I had high hopes for the Genesis, despite hearing about the transmission issues, and the fact that it's a larger car, but I sat down and went for a test drive anyways. With the package including the sport tuned suspension and Brembos, I thought it would at least give me a fun ride, but coming from my MKV hatch, it felt so big and sloppy. Brakes had to be stomped on to slow down in any sort of panic stop situation (I was sort of biased at the time, since my car had Hawk HP+ pads all around) Even so, there was so much body roll, and the power delivery from the turbo was flaccid, since I can't think of a better term to describe it with. The sound generator pipe would drone, the clutch pedal wasn't consistent, and trying to shift quickly or rev match to downshift just wasn't going to happen, since it would grind and lock you out of gear. I really wanted to like the car, since it was what I was going to buy instead of the BRZ, but it's not a car I would enjoy driving every day. Beautiful on the outside, and I can't help but stare when I see one pass by, but I know that, at the end of the day, I'm much happier with my slower and smaller (but more fun to drive) BRZ."
