I just got my ps4 and destiny.

Wow all the vanguard/crucible vendors have all new weapons and armor, the old stuff is just gone.

The faction guys have upgraded versions of the same stuff they had before.

You don't need commendations to buy legs and arms, but you do for chest, helmets and guns.

Seems like all the vendors/Iron Banner will get you to 31. I guess the raid gear is 32?

It's all a bit overwhelming. The main thing I did notice was the only good Hand Cannon is sold by the crucible guy. I'm rank 0 in crucible, guess I know what I'll be doing in my spare time.

Ironically, I had 200 Vanguard Rep points to burn about a week ago so I bought Shadow Price. Don't know what I was thinking.

Even if you had marks now you wouldn't have the commendations. I have 1 crucible commendation from leveling up Dead Orbit (also got a new 331dmg DO sniper) but I have no idea where I should be prioritizing my spending.

Does buying level 31 armor even make sense when the raid is dropping... what? level 32 stuff? In normal?

Well, it will definitely make the raid easier. I'm reading on the Destiny forums that it features enemies lvl 30 ramping up to level 32 on normal mode by the later part of the raid. So being level 31 instead of 30 will make a difference in damage dished out and received against those enemies.

You could hope to get raid gear drops from the first bosses in Crota's End... but you know how bad RNG luck can be.

Well I'll probably try and get a level 31 helmet or chest piece just so I can hit f&ck!ng level 30!

But I probably won't buy any other armor and hope for Crota to actually drop me something unlike VoG. As far as weapons, I'm going to focus on getting one primary weapon up to snuff and then try and get a couple special and a couple heavies up to whatever max damage is the new standard. I'll probably start dismantling old stuff tonight.

Even though the raid is stated to be at level 30, there will be enemies with higher levels (just like VoG normal mode). Any kind of level or damage advantage you can take away from enemies will greatly increase your chances of success and survival in a raid.

Yep, one more reason why I need to hit level 30 soon. 29 isn't going to cut it in the new Raid.

I've been reading up on a lot of the updates and reviews from gamers of the new DLC. Frankly, it's quite upsetting but I'll wait until there's an official release. Bungie really seems to be pushing their luck and this seems like more of a "subscription fee" rather than a "DLC".

I don't think there's a way to send invites. I've looked before but couldn't figure it out. Maybe if I get on my laptop and sign into the APP that way I will have more tools but on my phone it's not letting me send invites as far as I can tell. I'm trying to find the clan and I don't see it either, but maybe it's not showing cause I'm already in the clan? I do remember I had a hard time finding it too the first time, make sure you scroll down all the way when you do the search on the APP. I missed it the first time I looked.

What's your GT again?

Oh yeah? That's pretty crazy.

What's going to happen in Hard Mode then? Capped at 32 or will we see enemies higher than the max player level? In VoG HM it capped enemies at 30 even though the raid was level 30.

I'm going to guess, Yes. and that is probably why they are giving us some time to get gear'ed up before releasing Hard Mode.
