STI owner being rood

So i was talking to an STI owner that I used to talk to a lot before I got the BRZ and he said the BRZ owners are not the same as them. He said we don't wave hi to them, our community is shit because our forums don't have nice guys (idk about him but i've talked to some great people on here), he said we don't park next to sti owners (i'd park to any 86 owners i see...), all of us are "young" owners , and he said we buy the cars because we think it looks cool...lol

I don't have anything against STI owners or WRX owners, i'd wave to them if I see them

are you guys getting the fanboyism coming from him or is it just me?

I've had WRX guys wave at me. The guy is probably just being a douche.

Having owned an STi and coming from the Subaru community, a lot of the older guys are really cool and are the guys you wanna hang with. The younger kids are usually the fanboys you are talking about and, in my opinion, are the ones that are ruining the Subaru community.

that's what I would think too but this guy is like 35 or something and he owned an older STI as well. He used to tell me to get the BRZ lol idk perhaps a change of heart.

But i have to agree. The fanboys ruin everything

Americans with WRXs are fanbois for the most part here, but they are not that different from the Skyline kids so it's not really the car's fault. The Japanese guys tend to be more enthusiasts, perhaps because there's no mystique to the cars around here for them. Transplanted to America they would likely get goofy over musclecars.

There's a huge difference between the average STI owner and BRZ owner. While the BRZ attracts many car enthusiasts, it's still a fairly affordable economical car otherwise and 75% of drivers are just normal people.

STI owners on the other hand are nearly all car enthusiasts. There is no reason for a normal person to buy a STI over a WRX, it really segregates out the car enthusiasts.

So yeah, nearly every STI owner will wave where only the 25% of car enthusiast BRZ owners do. I can certainly see his perspective.

Hmm you make a good point. But then he never mentioned that about wrx owners which are fairly affordable as well. But I like the way you put it better than him. Lol

Lotta WRX/STi people don't like us. I say be nice to the ones who are nice (we're all car guys!), and f**k the haters.

Do you ever consider the possibility that people don't care to wave at anyone while driving?

Or the possibility that they might not react in time to give a signal?

Both above theories may have nothing to do with friendliness, they just might not feel the need to bother, maybe it doesn't cross their mind.

Or that they don't see any reason to wave at someone driving a completely different car?

Why would anybody expect an Impreza driver to wave at a BRZ, or vice versa? Do they wave at people driving Foresters? There's no shared experience there.
