The Toyota 86 starts at 30k in Australia. But at that price it's an absolute bargain.

Considering that...

WRX costs 40k AU
GTI costs 40k AU
MX5 costs 45k AU
370Z costs 60k AU
Boxter costs 110k AU
M3 costs 150k

I bought my 10 Series in August of 2014 for $23,500 and I absolutely love the car. I had originally wanted a Monogram, but couldn't find one locally and the difference in price between Scion's 'Pure Price' on the Monogram and my negotiated price on the 10 Series was massive. I would have rather had a current model year, but the FR-S is a much better proposition at $23,500 than $28,300. The biggest surprise for me has been the color! I was originally on the fence, but there's really nothing like it on the road and I get excited when I look at the car in different light - it's actually a really cool color!

The 10 Series cars were produced late in the 2013 model year and had most of the early TSBs already addressed - they're solid cars and, light-up badges aside (there is a switch that shuts them off, by the way), they're a steal! Get one - you won't regret it!

Too late. Already bought a 2015. Still very happy with my purchase.

No doubt - you've got a killer car and, while you may have paid a few thousand dollars more, you also have two years less depreciation! Enjoy it - these cars a blast!

Only reason it's still sitting is the pricetag, >$30k for a 200 hp 2-door car?

Who cares if it's got glowing badges and keyless whatever, you can pick up a Mustang GT with more than double the horsepower for equal money.

If they chop that down to $25k-$26k it would sell before the year is out, hell they may be able to get $27-$28 with an unsuspecting buyer who is smitten. But it's delisted now maybe somebody bought it.
