**AE86 Addendum**
AE86 chassis Corollas are allowed an extra 500 lb weight allowance from each class (e.g. a Street class AE86 is allowed to be 2350 lbs, instead of 2850 lbs).


**S2k Addendum**
Discussion is being held for a cross-over event with the AP1/AP2 chassis. Currently, the belief is that for track modified S2ks,

Absolutely Prohibited
- nitrous oxide systems
- removal of vital safety equipment such as bumper beams, roll-hoops or airbags without R/H/S, etc.

86CUP CLASSES

Stock Class - 0.5 points maximum
The purpose of this class is to keep costs down and be attractive to a newcomer with a stock or minimally modified FRS or BRZ. Drivers of all experience levels are welcome. Tires are restricted to TW 140+ and no larger than 225 width.

Certain modifications are not allowed in Stock class:
- No Level 2 Front Aero
- No Level 1+ Rear Aero
- No Level 1+ Rear Wing
- No light-weight aftermarket parts, no aftermarket body panels, or any interior removal (unless necessary for safety equipment).
- No forced induction

Street Class - 4.0 points maximum
The purpose of this class is to allow moderate modifications to a primarily street-driven car. Drivers/owners are allowed flexibility to choose different modifications, while being exposed to an even playing field. 2850 minimum weight with driver and FULL tank of gas

Limited – 7.0 points maximum
Modified cars are expected to have dedicated performance modifications. Cars in this class will typically either have a large amount of power and/or are easily identifiable as a track driven car. 2750 minimum weight with driver and FULL tank of gas.

Unlimited - no maximum
Minimum weight for Unlimited is 2700 pounds with driver and full tank of gas. Who knows what you may see in this class... anything goes!

WEIGHING

Rules
Each class has a minimum weight: at any point during the day, a competitor with driver inside must meet that minimum weight. If and when a competitor is found to be below minimum weight, he will be penalized 1 second for every 25 pounds he is under the minimum weight. If this is the competitor’s first violation, the first 25 pounds will be allowed as leeway (for possible scale-to-scale variation), but he will be penalized for any further discrepancy. Also, if this is the first violation, he may choose to forfeit all laptimes he has accrued until the weighing process, add back weight to his car to meet minimum weight, and re-start new timed laps instead of taking a lap-time penalty. Any repeat violations will automatically incur the lap time plenty as outlined above.

Weighing Protocol
One competitor from each group (Street and Modified) will be selected at random to be weighed at any time during the day. The probability of being weighed is directly proportional to the number of points he has accrued throughout the season (for example, this is equivalent to adding one’s name in a hat once for every point he scores, then drawing from that hat at random). That means top drivers have the highest likelihood of being weighed, and drivers who have yet to score points will never be weighed.

Weighing Logistics
Two drivers from each class may volunteer or will be randomly selected to participate in the weighing process. Only drivers from a different class may weigh one class (to create impartiality). For example, if a Stock class participant is being weighed, only the two drivers from Street and two drivers from Modified may assist in the weighing process. All who participate in the S2KC implicitly agree to help with the weighing process if called upon, barring any extenuating circumstances.

PROTEST PROTOCOL
A competitor may also be spot-weighed if two peers (or at least half of the participants of that day, whichever is less) from the same class believe the competitor to be in violation of minimum weight. That competitor will be liable to be weighed on the spot. In addition, if a competitor suspects another is underrepresenting his points, he may bring his concern to a member of the 86CUP board immediately, so that a board member can audit the car at that point, and compare the setup to that declared on the signup sheet. If a participant fails the audit, he can choose to: 1) correct the violation and forfeit all a previous laps and redo timed laps for any remaining sessions; or 2) take a 1 second penalty for every 0.25 points he is over the limit.

Prizes
Prizes at individual events for each class will be awarded regardless of number of competitors in the class.
Year-end prize winners need to have participated in atleast 6 events. Unclaimed prizes and prizes without a winner will be throw into a raffle pool to be raffled off at the end of the year. Each participant will get one raffle entry for each event attended. Additionally, one raffle entry will be issued to every FRS/BRZ owner who attends the season finale, even if they do not participate in any 86CUP events.

So a couple of questions:

Why are am axles free and drive shaft costs points?

Second, why is an E85 tune same cost as an am trans?
And for that matter the springs too.

Seems like a very high price to pay for springs and an E85 tune.

Axles are a common failure, regardless of modification level. However, with enough power, a driveshaft becomes a requirement, so it's a way to get the guys with more power.

E85 has huge power gains, regardless of power level. AM trans is another gate for the high power guys. Anything over 325lb/ft torque tends to eat trannies...

As discussed via email, my only concern is with the allowance of FI in Street Class.

I am not particular on this point, just want to make sure we are all on the same page on this with some feedback from outsiders..

With the tire rules as listed, the Hoosier A6 (or A7) and Hoosier R6 (or R7) would receive the same number of points. All 4 of these tires are UTQG 40 C A. The A6/A7 is a much softer compound developed for Auto-X and time attack applications which will have a huge advantage over the R6/R7.

This will also apply to any other DOT 2-Groove R-Comp that has multiple compound options: BFG R1/R1-S, Hankook Ventus Z214 C51/C71/C91.

That is correct.

The multiple compound thing applies to a lot of tires, so it is assumed that the stickiest version will be used.

Keep in mind that most competitors are casual, and will not run a tire that is only good for one heat cycle/lap. If someone wants to show up to every event with a set of sticker tires, they're more than welcome to do so. So far, outside of Robispec in 2013, nobody has ever shown up on anything anything sticker than a NT01 or RC1, and at that point, it was proven that the A6 was not "worth the points" based on today's system.

IDK, I doubt anyone with FI will be under 4.0.

FI kit, 9" wheels and 245 tires are already 3.75 pts, just 0.25 shy of the 4.0 maximum for Street. I'd expect 99% of the boosted guys to have at least springs, LCAs and some exhaust parts..

I know I'm looking forward to getting in as many track days as I can for 2015

Looks like the tires I bought on closeout sale are worth more points than my Super Charger and put me in the unlimited class

Excuse my ignorance, but is this a time trial/time attack series or wheel to wheel racing?

I'm an outsider looking in, but I've got some feedback. If this isn't wheel to wheel I might try to run an event or two but I wouldn't compete in the whole series, so feel free to disregard what I have to say.

I'm a little puzzled as to why a drop in filter costs 0.25 points (gains maybe 1-2 HP) and an ECU reflash is free (gains more than that). I could swap my K&N out for a paper filter, flash my ECU, and end up faster. IMO drop in filters should be free, modifications to the intake itself should cost points.

ECU flashes should maybe cost points if you're serious about limiting costs in stock class - how much does an OFT or a day at the dyno shop cost in terms of dollars? IMO there's a balance between allowing popular "I just bought the car and I'm gonna mod it" stuff and trying to limit cost needed to run up front. I know that's not easy.

Another thing I don't see listed at all is the stock springs/aftermarket shocks combo. How many points is this worth?

I scored my stock class autocross car and it's not eligible for the stock class - aftermarket 17x7 wheels, 225 Rivals, and a K&N air filter are enough to kick me out. Maybe I'm not the target audience for your stock class, and that's fine, but it strikes me as too restrictive. Just my 2 cents.

In autox, the cs class allows 5axis because they are installed at the port to some cars. Also doesn't the FRS rs come with the new TRD duckbill spoiler, where would that fall.

Are TRD panels also included?
