I think you need to be more specific about what you mean by performance in your first post.

If you mean getting better results, I.e. going faster, on a track or autox, then additional camber is a must. If you mean something else then you will need to explain it better.

Camber can be a huge benefit to performance. You may not need camber plates, but if you care about performance you need some camber.

Anyway, I tried, good luck.

I was going to write something but decided not too, regardless it is my opinion that no one should ask for help with a gun at hand. Ask, sit and listen or better yet read, dont make comments that insult those helping, that in turn will only decrease the aid or advise. On one last thing.. camber will be forced upon you! lol

PS- the more i read the OP the more confused i get.. no camber, but increase in performance... performance but no noise.. and what coilover kit comes with sway bar adjustment. It may be a misunderstanding but please take your time when posting.

Last thing: to actually contribute, out of your recommended list. i would go with ST, decent and cheap and will stay under your budget with "install".

Comfort
Performance
Budget

Pick 2.

You may not like what you're reading in this thread, but I'll be brief about what I'm interpreting on my end. Based on what you have been recommended in your list that you have provided, it appears the people you are in discussions with seem to have convinced you that they have a much higher knowledge base and experience level than CSG and RCE.

BC and Megan are not performance components lol. these two brands (along with a handful of other rebranded and re-colored coilovers) are pretty much all the same and are for people who want to LOOK like a performance setup without the actual R&D and price tag that comes along with it.

BC/Megan are posterchild companies for show cars that just want to look like race cars. And just because someone "races" with it, doesnt mean they're actual performance parts. I can race with the stock michelin primacy tires, but that dont make them performance tires lol

I want Japanese parts :3

Why don't you like those dampers?

If you wanting an improvement in performance you are paying for the valving. Damper bodies can be made from anything ( compromise as usual) but this has NO relation to the valving. Who ever suggested Megan Racing was obviously pulling your leg. Andy is trying to recommend some quality items close to your budget. At your price point you would be better off with fixed valved dampers as opposed to 52 click adjustable crap.

This.

.

You are right, sorry.

Montreal driving has lots of cracks, and I have heavy winters here in Canada. I want comfort for a daily driven car, but at the same time keeping performance in mind. Can I do that?

Forget my budget, what about RSR?

RCE has the best recommendations. He suggested setups that work with stock top mounts which would keep noise to a minimum.

You want japanese parts. Tein or RSR is the only two that stand out to me.

comfort, performance, budget. List what is most important to least important. And have a budget range. We can certainly tell you that XXXX $5,000 setup is the best. But with everything, there is a price.

What is a smooth top mount? The RCE Tarmac 0 and most KW and ST coilovers reuse the stock rubber topmounts. Using those keeps the things quieter than a solid topmount like many other coilovers come with.

Why do you want Japanese coilovers?
