Signs that you are hopelessly addicted to track days

Figured it would be fun to have a thread of "Signs you are hopelessly addicted to track days". I'll start off with a few:

You buy multiple boxes of brakes pads at once because "Hey, I'll have to reorder them soon anyway".

You have tires with grease/tire pen writing on the sidewall.

You are confused about people thinking brake pad/rotor/fluid changes aren't trivial.

You always have bags of tools ready to be thrown in the car so you have less work to get to the track.

You change oil based upon track days instead of miles.

4 out of 5.

I actually have my "track box" in the garage ready to go in the trunk in a minutes notice.

In it, it has:
- Tools (impact wrench, torque wrench, breaker bar, socket wrench, collection of useful sockets, etc.)
- Blue masking tape
- Compressor for tires
- Spare helmet
- Towels and other cleaning stuff

I'm 5 out of 5, plus I'll add:

- You fill next year's calendar with good track dates so the family does not plan stuff on those dates

Your vacation days are all accounted for the year based on NASA weekends.
$25 on a shirt is to much but you spent another $800 on tires again yesterday.

  • Your g/f or wife talks about a vacation and has to insist that it doesn't involve racing or watching a race.
  • You lose 40lbs of body fat to make the race car lighter.
  • All the gifts you want for birthday/anniversary/christmas are racing-related; parts/tools/tires/helmet etc
  • You name your pets after race tracks, drivers or car manufacturers: Monza, Enzo, Senna, Schumi...

And my latest one: You buy a SUV and Enclosed trailer... right before the holidays.

"Hey honey, how about we don't spend a lot on each other this Christmas? Whaddya say?"
