My drinking habits consist of beer or whiskey on the rocks.

If I want to pretend to be fancy then I'll have a Vesper.

I'm a Jameson or scotch guy myself. It really depends on the day.
Depends on the mood.

Sometimes it will be "good beer" + shot of Jameson (not together of course).

Or if we are somewhere a bit nicer or with a good Bourbon selection, it will be 2 fingers of good bourbon, neat (Woodford Reserve, etc).

There is also a drink they make at one of the local Italian places. Coop DNR beer, like a Belgian farmhouse ale that is 10% + a shot of Woodford Reserve dropped in the glass.........sounds strange, but it works amazingly well. And of course they will only serve you 2 in one sitting.

Replace "good" with "cheap" and combine the two and this was the punishment for every touchdown the opponent scored at a football watch party with my friends. Never again....

Isle of Jura is a good scotch at a decent price. Also a big fan of Yamazaki for something different. Lots of great Scotch's you can't get stateside. Was a beer snob for a long time, now I like a few of the local breweries such as Core and Saddlebock.

Beer: Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout. Soooo good If I'm in the mood for something lighter, a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Guinness or a Sam Adams.

Liquor: Bowmore 15 Darkest, Ardbeg 10 or Highland Park 12

Mixed Drink: Don Julio Margarita (on the rocks)

Honestly as a bartender, I can tell you your Don Julio margarita is going to taste the same as your well tequila margarita but the well one is half the price. Unless it's really ratty well tequila, then all you do is ask for a grand marnier floater and problem solved . Just saying, it's like when people ask for a Grey goose and cranberry, I usually think they're a douche with to much money that probably won't tip. Sorry went on a tangent.. just got off a 12 hour shift that I didn't make any real money on. But yeah my professional opinion

I live in the Bay Area, any mixed drink at any decent bar is going to be expensive As far as a Don Julio Margarita tasting the same as a Margarita made with a bottom shelf tequila I disagree. First of all, I NEVER take shots. I don't even drink tequila unless it's something good and rarely ever have mixed drinks so when I do, I don't mind shelling out some extra cash. I've sipped Don Julio on many occasions so my palate may be more attuned to taste the difference. I can totally taste the difference between a Don Julio Margarita or one made with some crap like Cuervo or Sauza.

21st Amendment's Back in Black is usually my go to for beer. Don't drink much hard liquor, but I'll have a glass of whiskey once in a while.
