Wow. Three lanes and he decides to turn into the far left one. What an idiot.

@Jesse1292 G1w-c paid $90 for cam and memory card. We'll worth it.

Been thinking about getting a dash cam but I've never owned one before so I just thought I'd throw out a couple of questions before deciding.

1. Do they function when you leave the vehicle? Like, do they have a battery that keeps the camera on without the car being on for recording while away.

2. What do they look like mounted? A picture of what they look like from the outside would be cool. I'm concerned it's a big piece of equipment blocking a good chunk of windshield.

Thanks for the help I've shopped around and found a couple I might be interested in, but I can't seem to find any information answering the questions I have. Thanks

Some of the BlackVue ones have a parking mode and will run off your car's battery. You'll need one of these to take advantage of parking mode and not drain your battery. There has been a clip in this thread of someone with some admirers while in parking mode.

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Blackvue-Power-Magic-Pro-Prevention/dp/B008B8ERIO/"]Amazon.com : Blackvue Power Magic Pro Vehicle Battery Discharge Prevention for Parking Mode : Vehicle Power Inverters : Car Electronics[/ame]

As for pics, as long as you get one without a monitor or any of the blackvues, it'll hide completely behind your rear view mirror. If you know how to tuck your wires, which is very easy in the FRS, you'll never even know it's there when you're sitting in the driver seat.

From my research, blackvues had all the features anyone could ask for. I got my front and rear cam for $200 with auto loop, parking, audio, g-sensor, and wifi so I can watch live footage on the go. $200 should be less than most deductibles.

Go to https://dashcamtalk.com/ There's lots of info on each camera, including photos of them mounted.

I had a Finevue about a year ago but it overheated and finally got a new dash cam. This time I got the Blackvue DR530W front and rear cams. I'm amazed how it can record voices from outside my car so clearly. o_o
