FRS/BRZ Volume level

As we all know the volume of the FRS/BRZ radio is really low, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to increase the volume level? A new amp? a new head unit?

I haven't owned my car very long, but I think the problem isn't so much that the radio doesn't get loud enough, but more that the car itself simply suffers from a lot of road noise (nature of the beast.) In my last vehicle, a bit of aAmplifier made a world of a difference in both the volume and quality of the sound. Applying some CLD and MLV in key areas of this vehicle would be a good way to increase the sound quality and volume while simultaneously reducing road noise. I plan on doing this in the spring (or sooner if I get impatient or bored.)

I found the speakers took some time to break in. Sounded pretty crappy to begin with, but much better now.

It's always been loud enough though. Then again, I'm not one to listen to music at levels that damage my ears...

Plug up the sound tube, for starters.

If you are powering aftermarket amp for bass off of the stock headunit, mine starts clipping anywhere between 33-44 on some songs and is clipping constantly on all but the weakest bass songs after 44. Just something to think about, also the low level output voltage is very low, less than 1V at peak.

There is a +/- setting in the options so you can set loudness levels for different inputs. You could also +/- the equalizer settings.

Different H/U in the two cars. I have the same as the o/p and can't find this.
