Wow that is some serious commute. i live 10 minutes from work, enough said . if i use the "accident" story it better involves fiery death (pun intended) to have her believed

I remember a Subaru rep mentioning the shoulder strap potentially ripping loose from unbuttoning; I think he mentioned that the snap popped off of one recently. I wondered out loud why they didn't use a magnetic clasp that would pop open easier, but maybe they didn't want to use any strong magnets.

I'm personally okay with that, considering that the 1st-generation tC owners had a few more "warts" to deal with: the rattling of the trim panels near the hatch, the radio cover "squeaking" (which has a quick lubrication fix that I performed myself), plus a few other things that escape my mind, but I either have already fixed, or live with. When I saw the BRZ in person, the interior materials looked pretty good, and there were some design improvements I saw over my 2006 tC. This is how it goes anyway with a new platform, so I don't mind too much. I'll definitely contribute any fixes that I find along the way, though.

Hopefully none of the issues my Cobalt SS had... body roll causing the driver and passenger door to rub against the frame, rear brakes being replaced with less than 20,000 miles on them, e-brake not working, both head lights having condensation build up, rear bumper not being mounted properly on the rear panel sides, etc.

Note: I bought this car in March 2010 and I have had more issues than what was stated above, including a turbo spooling issue where the turbo was actually replaced, along with the MAP sensors. All under 30,000 miles on the odometer.

Under powered
Over priced
Prius tires
Small back seat
Cheap plastic interior
No HID/LED headlights
No push button ignition
No electronic climate control
No high end head unit
No armrest...

Yea, that's Atlanta. Seems half of us live and work on the opposite sides of town. I also work from home one or two days a week so that helps.

I have a history of long commutes though. Seems everytime I move close to work, I get laid off or get a better opportunity and the commute starts again.

When in Florida I commuted 65 miles each way to work. Fortunately it was all highway miles and took less than an hour on most days. It is what wore out my MK1 MR2 though.

Probably mileage.
Guessing they will make the 6th longer to boost it in later models.

Also, guessing interior make not hold up well. I never owned any scion before so i really dont know how they wear. Just remembered that my brothers tC had plastic that scuffed up very easy.

Have you thought about using a couple of button rare-earth magnets on it, assuming the snaps are metal? I'm seriously considering that myself as I mentioned in a different thread.

My concerns are paint, the shoulder straps on the seats, and interior panel creaks/rattles. My mom's '07 Camry with 65k on it already has a dash rattle that would drive me insane! I will raise hell if something similar happens.

The first complaint will be that people mistake it for "the new tC."

I also think there might be a recall on the climate control, the car vent tend to run warmer then most cars I been in, even though it at it lowest temperature setting. I am not even running the system and it let air through that is warmer then I would like it to be.

Oooooooh. This, my friends, is the man that can definitely tell us. He actually owns one!

That's interesting, PD... I wonder if it will be more widespread?
