Help me buy wheels...Come vote.
RS05RR VS Gramlight 57xtreme I wish I could get many wheels, but unfortunately I can only afford one set. I will be going with the Enkei RS05RR Wheels 18x9.5 square setup. I will have the +43 offset. Should I get spacers for the strut suspension or just get a set of coilovers. I will be getting BC BR Coilovers. I don't want weird sounds or annoying sounds from the suspensions...

Get the right offset wheels, don't get spacers.

I can't get a perfect staggered fitment... Originally the fender gap is the same if you use allaround same wheel... right?
I want 8.5 front and 9.5 front (both 18") wheels... I always get a variation. I don't know if it is negligible but it is 1cm (8mm) Anyways 18x9.5 +43 rear 18x8.5 +42 front 265/30/18 rear 235/35/18 front Right, wrong.. no? XD |

Go square so you can rotate your tires. Staggered setups understeer if I'm not mistaken. And go enkeis..

What about 18x9 front and 18x9.5 rear
.5 makes a difference? Its decided I will be going Enkei RS05RR... I know I need coilovers or else they rub on the strut of the suspension?

Voted RS05RR because they're more unique at the moment. Seems like every second ZN6 has 57Extremes.

I like both wheels but only with 9.5" width. The more narrow sizes have no concave and aren't very good looking in my opinion.
I'd also run the square setup as staggered size has its drawbacks. I'd almost say RS05s simply cause they aren't as common but ou can go wrong either way. Both are quality products from reputable companies

How is having a square setup better than a staggered setup? I like the general no rice mentality of the forum, but everyone swears they are some kind of track guru. Who are you kidding? Most of us DD with an occasional mountain run or autocross. I run 18x8 et45 225/40 and 18x9 et42 245/40 because that's what I enjoy
Get which ever one you like the most. The realistic drawback to a staggered setup is rotating, especially if you have directional tires. Otherwise do what you flipping want to do. Just don't go with an offset lower than +35 (and even that is pushing it in my opinion) or you'll poke the car next to yours. If I were to do a dedicated track build, I wouldn't even have 18's... Just a rant...not targeted at anyone.

Sounds like an Engineer. Yes, the only drawback of the staggered set up is rotating. However, there is a little instability. Track car are usually more tires and less wheel =p. You're right again, but the difference is negligible for me since I won't track Thanks everyone for your inputs, I've updated my thread. I will get square setup 18x9.5+43 Should I get BC Coilovers? Or spacers? I heard it rubs on the strut of the suspension. |
