RANDOM CAR RANT...

Why is it that you can buy a pack of plug wires as a set but you don't get a distributor/coil wire? it doesn't come with the cap and rotor nor does Canadian tire even list such a thing. Is it not 4 x as important than the other wires?

All I want is my dream wheels. But nooooooooo...... Stupid 5x100

For the record I tried that graphical simulator thing and it doesn't do shit since you can't see the fenders.

edit: This is probably more of a question for @Slick , guy on the forum has/had these wheels and was running -3.5 camber front, and -2 rear. I want to start lapping this year, is this camber too much for performance driving? Keep in mind I do a lot of mileage with normal driving anyways. And where's the threshold for uneven camber wear?

Just curious, what wheels are these?

Running that much offset and camber is probably not good for the track. You will have changed the geometry quite a bit.

Chad. Did you change the spark plugs and wire harness when you had the supercharger installed and did you go with an updated belt. I see Ft86 speed factory has them for $60. Just starting to put together my pre-install shopping list. BTW Friday nights are no longer fun. @#$@#$@ winter.

Thats close to what Norm is running , Yes you will likely get plenty of wear if you are doing lots of highway. You may want to tone it down a little. Do you have adjustable top hats? pretty sure you will need them to get anywhere close to that much camber. I am close to 2.5 degrees in front and 1.5 rear and I anticipate destroying 1 set of track and 1 set of street tires a year. lol

No Just my winter beater, I had the same issue with my old swift. plug wires I could find anywhere, the coil wire I would have had to order from Japan which is what I finally ended up doing once I discovered that the one on the car was causing a misfire. Not even the Dealership stocked it.

What jvincent said.
Unless you are running 75% track, you will use up a set of tires quickly, as it is too much camber for the street. I ran 10 track events or so this year, plus daily driving and my tires are worn just about perfectly even (regular rotations help too). My front camber is at -2.2, rear -2.0.

What are these magical wheels you seek?

@HeadBanger

My car was/is stock for this year's lapping, which was my first season. I told a lot of instructors and other lapping folk that I kept the car stock for the whole season so that I could treat it as a constant so that all the skill improvements are clearly mine. They just shook their heads. Vertically.

The right wheels for lapping are round ones with round tires that are in good shape and suited for high speeds and hot days. The correct camber is whatever it is now.

Save your money for more lapping days. I spent about $1500 on 6 this year. It adds up, but so does the fun.

Obviously I'll need conversion spacers, but I don't want to get screwed and buy the spacers and wheels and it not fit
I ran 17x9 +42 for the summer with 245s - the tire/rim size web page shows small clearance in the front and I knew it was close.
Now that the winters are on, I checked the summer tires and noticed an ever so slight groove around the fronts lining up with the strut edge.
There were no track days this year, just a few spirited touring events and general ripping around the city.

Thin spacers or dremeled struts are on the list for next spring.

I've got some 5mm spacers that I didn't end up using if you end up going that route.

Just some beautiful wheels Can't spoil the surprise
Regardless I'll probably buy them and hoard them until I buy another S13 or other 5x114 vehicle.

See as much as I want to start lapping, I work 7 days a week. Unless a weekend that I'm off also happens to be a weekend with an event I can't go. There will be much more pleasure and enjoyment if I can at least have a nice looking car.

Mod list right now is hopefully do at least 1 lapping day all stock. Then Eibach pro kit. Wheels can easily be switched around.

I'm probably going to just end up joining the ASE lapping club. I believe they're thursday nights, and ASE is about 45 minutes away.

I wish there was a cheaper way for us to convert to 5x114
