sweet looking paint job
http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lambo.../full/#3418880
Upon closer inspection it appears to be carbon fiber, but at this distance it appears to have such a fantastic paint job. does anyone know how to emulate this with an actual paintjob? ps: those airinlets on the hood are ugly!

Erm... you mean matte black, or matte colours in general? Are you being serious?

^What he said. On another note, that is one of the cleanest full-carbon bodies I have seen. The quality is stunning.

I wonder what those red dots are for?
Matte hides scratches easier but absorbs more heat like a mofo! I don't know what the deal is with matte colors too? It looks like an unfinished job, just like those ricers driving around with primered cars thinking they're the shit.

You guys need to realize this is not a paint job, the entire car is CF. The weave is just extremely tight and the finish is perfect.

Sweet but that means it'll have a lower chance against the elements. Give it some time and the best CF either fades or peels.

Then you should ask Lexus how do they make LFA with 70% CF entirely. After all, Toyota is the one of two who has CF rotary weave machine exist in the world.

The LFA is painted over, and guess what? That protects the CF from fading over time. A bare CF (or even clearcoated) will still yellow eventually.

^^Right. That's my point. I don't see how a raw carbon fiber without painted or clearcoated look this smooth.

I'm sure that it wouldn't fade over time on a lambo?? I mean you can get a zoned that's all unpainted perfect cf.. I'm sure that they use some chemicals in the clear coat or the bonding agent, or that car would suffer SO much and it's SO expensive..

The new technology in UV inhibiting paint is the answer you are looking for, this stuff would hold up fine, long term protection of CF is not all that modern.
