So you complain about pretty much everything on the car being "not right" by your standards, and you go to great lengths to fix these so called issues including modifying the header (with questionable outcomes by the way)...and yet you've also fitted a towbar on your car. That thing is going to weigh what 15kg at least? Good thinking 99.

"I didn't like all these things about the car, so I made it a truck." 😂

I did some mods myself that I know increased my torque down low. I implemented my global weather device to reduce the IAT. It was a cheap mod that anyone can do.

On an honest note, I really applauded you in the beginning for the fact that you even tried this. I can't anymore since your reasoning is pure whimsical bs.

As an engineer I'm right there with you -- I love when people take a "try it and see" attitude even if it's a shot in the dark. It's within the realm of possibility that he could prove all these armchair tuners wrong, and wouldn't that be something special .

@phrosty except a good many of us aren't just "armchair tuners". It's a fallacy to try and lump enthusiasts into a single bucket. Many, if not most, are speaking from experience. Just because you're an engineer doesn't mean you're the only scientist in the room!

Scavenging be damned or not, OP doesn't know how to observe science in action and get the facts before relying on his butt dyno. That's the essence of this issue here, not a bunch of "armchair tuners" trying to tell him he's wrong. He's trying to tell us he's right. Basic scientific method: disprove not prove.

I hope you are a legitimate one.

"If Edison had a needle to find in a haystack, he would proceed at once with the diligence of the bee to examine straw after straw until he found the object of his search... I was a sorry witness of such doings, knowing that a little theory and calculation would have saved him ninety per cent of his labor."

Sorry, I consider an "armchair tuner" to be anyone making decisions based purely on past results and vague conceptual understandings rather than an actual background in i.e. fluid dynamics. I don't consider this a bad thing and I didn't mean to insult if anyone took it that way.

I also didn't say I necessarily agree with him, just that I like seeing people willing to get dirty and actually try something rather than just discuss. Because doing things like this is where armchair tuners get the empirical evidence they base their decisions from, and sometimes even experts have a "huh." moment where an experiment gives surprising results.
