Great...You just made me want a Mustang.

I don't know about everyone else, but a V8 that can rev up to 8k sounds pretty fun to me lol

Gotta admit that's pretty badass. I'd like to drive it but wouldn't want to have to fill it.

But back on topic. There isn't one. This is like comparing a dirtbike vs a jet ski.
Which one's the dirt bike?

You would buy a Cayman S if you were gonna spend money on that. I'm sure it breaks 50k. Best of both worlds.

I would have been all over the new GT350 if it were close to the same size and weight of the FRS. It isn't, so I won't.

Kudos to Ford for ditching the horrible sounding cross plane crank shaft domestic luvers seem to cream themselves over. Also for ditching the horribly fat hoodline on the base Mustang for more FRS/BRZ like fenders on the GT350. Even the new Miata copied that.

Stop making big fat bricks for people that don't know how to take a corner and we'll talk. Now how about that factory included fire extinguisher?

I'm sure you're right. Ford had some 70K "Shelby" Mustangs a year ago. Still, the EcoBoost 4 cylinder is interesting; 310 horsies out of 2.6 liters.

Better power to weight ratio but I bet it still corners like a brick.

That's OK. I was a bit surprised that my FR-S owner's manual came with a cute little first aid kit. Yeah, I bet those band-aids will really help in case of an accident.

While I'm glad performance models are coming out here in the states BMW made a V8 that went to 8400 rpm 8 years ago. It's cool, but nothing too new. I actually went past a Ford dealer tonight and stopped in to look at the '15 mustangs...and they still look heavy and big. Not my style...but Ford also whips out the performance models like crazy which is pretty sweet. Were never going to see anything other than the standard Twins here in the states.

This car will sticker for $60k at least, with those kinds of specs and such a unique engine (for now), as it's not something where they can reduce its production cost until they make a ton more of them and put it in other cars, which doesn't seem likely unless some other company is having Ford build them a motor that will be based on this but for something at the higher end of the spectrum. It's going to be aimed at the Camaro Z/28 with it being NA and more of a track model (contrasting to the ZL1 being supercharged and not as sharp of a handler), and that thing is already between $70-80k (at least partially because it has ceramic rotors and stuff).

So yeah, comparing a 500+ hp car (and it's not even out yet or even given finalized specs) to a twin? Come on.

Haha, are people in this thread serious? They are nowhere in the same class of cars. On equal tires the v6 mustang will smash the FR-s on any track. The GT 350 is more in the m4 range.

I still think that the GT350 will dust the M4. And I am a huge BMW fan.

Being only a second faster and with the Track Pack, yeah the V6 Mustang wins, but not by much.
