I use machine guns all the time, especially to clear high level groups with elemental shields.

It seems like with this game they fix one thing and screw up another. With the new patch every environment feels laggy and choppy. Hopefully they did a server reset with the weekly reset this morning to clear all that choke. Other than that I really like the new HUD and display icons. Preview for the shaders is nice too.

Yep, everything I've read is not to encouraging about Bad JuJu but at least it's a doable bounty. I've given up on the Thorn and Invective bounties. I just don't play enough Crucible and I'm not that good at it. It's actually starting to become infuriating that the exotic bounties have a PvP part to them.

Just grinded out the Super Good Advice bounty the other day and it doesn't seem any better than my other machine guns, not that I even use machine guns...

I like machine guns now that I've gotten used to them and at least you don't kill yourself with them!

I've been having all kinds of issues since installing the patch last night. I couldn't get back on the game last night at all. This morning I kept getting booted with multiple error codes: lion, hawk and vulture. WTF? It's made the game almost unplayable, not to mention all the bugs still affecting the raid. Last week my entire fire team was almost done with the Nightfall and we got booted to orbit and had to start all over.

Has any tried the Iron Banner yet? I'm debating if it's worth it. Am I good enough and will I have enough time to actually pick up one of the 30 light armors or a decent weapon? I'm not even sure. You need to be level 4 or 5 or something ridiculous to get armor.

EDIT: It's actually level 3 for 30 light boots level 4 for 30 light gauntlets.

Yeah I looked at it this morning thinking it might be a good alternative to grinding the raid then I saw the ridiculous rank level required to get gear. FML.

I haven't gotten to play. Was going to last night, had a bad night, ended up not playing.

Saladin (I think?) has a buff called Tempered that will grow more powerful as the week progresses, for those that don't have a lot of time to play and grind out IB rep. It lasts 12 hours and increases the amount you earn. It's not a consumable though, so as soon as you buy it it's active. Whether or not you can purchase it multiple times has yet to be seen.

The upside is that the gear looks unique. And good unique, not just a red pipe like most of the stupid ugly raid gear.

Some dude on reddit did way too much math and figured it'd take about 50 matches to get to level 3. His math didn't include the +10% from the emblem/shader/buff or doing any bounties.

Control matches take about 12 minutes to complete. It doesn't seem that bad honestly, this is a PVP event so if you want the best stuff you better be ready for a lot of PVP.

I can't check till I get home but I think I'm still level 2 from the last event, so I've already got a decent head start.

I WANT THOSE BOOTS, they will be mine. Oh yes, they will be mine.

This is also assuming you win every match. I am glad that they placed in a new system that grants potential reward even for losing. This should help drastically cut down the amount of rage quitting that occurred in the last Iron Banner.

My friends and I will be running Iron Banner all night tonight. Xbox message me if you'd like to join. Also as a precautionary disclosure, my friends do get rowdy on their microphones.

I might take you up on that.

The math actually counted losing. You get 50 rep for a win and a coin worth 40 rep for a loss. You can hand in the coins on your next win. So 2 wins is 100 but a win and a loss is still 90 rep. Obviously the more you lose the larger this gap gets, but it's still not that bad.

How much rep is required per level compared to current factions? Current factions might feel like they take forever to level up but if the Iron Banner is timed, with higher levels, its only fair that the rep quantity per level is less...

I want to say that the first level took like a couple matches, but after that like 1200 or so? I can't remember.

Keep in mind you can get the Tempering buff that lasts 12 hours and costs one Mote of Light, but gives you increased rep gain. Was confirmed by Bungie yesterday that it's re-purchaseable throughout the week.

Couldn't get much done last night. Stupid network error codes are getting ridiculous. Got dropped from 3 crucible matches and 2 strikes. Managed so somehow pull off the Nightfall with my clan though.

Last night I got the following network errors:
-Monkey
-Vulture
-Pineapple

What's next? The Flying squirrel network error?

There actually is a Flying Squirrel error, I got that and Pink Rhino the other day. I'm pretty sure they just ran out of animals and they have now moved on to Greek gods. You know it's bad when you get the Hades or Poseidon error. haha
