2014 Bespoke head unit no longer sees USB port
Title should read "2013 Bespoke..."
Today while making a stop, not out of the car for 10 minutes, all the sudden the USB port was no longer detected. Working great, turn off the car, turn the car back on and no USB. Tried multiple restarts of the car but the USB never came back. It does not appear that any of the external sources work, Bluetooth, 1/8" jack nothing but AM and FM are listed. I really haven't used any of the other connections. Very odd and very annoying. Anyone seen this before? Is there a factory reset or something I can try to get the headunit to see the USB port again? I'm pretty sure I reconnected all connectors on the back of the head unit. Tried turning the car off then back on again as you did but that did not work. I'll troubleshoot tomorrow and post what I find out. 2014 6-speed Monogram (37J) |

Let's start with the least invasive solution: have you tried using another USB cable?

@5hairpins what else have you tried? At some point today I'll take another shot at troubleshooting. I'll post what I come up with. 2014 6-speed Monogram (37J) Last edited by zeal86; 11-16-2014 at 04:09 PM. |

@5hairpins, I would verify the connection at the Harman Automotive extension box and at the USB/aux connector. I read on another forum where the problem you are having was due to a unsecure connection. The post stated they realized that was the case when they tapped the area near the USB/aux plug and the signal would return intermittently.
My issue is due to me reconnecting the USB connector into the wrong port. 2014 6-speed Monogram (37J) |

Verified my issue...I had plugged the USB connector into the wrong port.
I did notice that the harness that connects from the extension box to the USB/aux has a loose feel... meaning it isn't rigid as some of the other wire harnesses and bundles... it moves around easily. Worth looking into the connectors at both sides of that harness. 2014 6-speed Monogram (37J) |
