I have OFT but I see myself getting a tactrix cable in the future, as soon as there's a good selection of LTE-enabled Windows tablets. The long flashing time of OFT gets old rather quickly. To do anything with the logs you'd need a laptop/tablet anyway.

Two things would concern me Not all windows tablet run "full" windows some are a tablet version and Ecuflash may not run on them. Also be concerned re voltage stability while flashing with tablet as it need to power the tactrix adapter, I always have mains power to laptop while flashing just to be sure. nice idea though. |

But you're right about stability. The latest tablets/ultrabooks only have one USB 3.0 port and no USB 2 which could be a compatibility issue. |

If you're a coder by trade, who's comfortable with disassembly, etc. why not come and join the fun here? I haven't had the time and energy to try and port the code over to the SH72531 processor environment, but I doubt it would be too difficult. When this code is available for the BRZ's very little out there could touch it - assuming of course you have a high affinity for fiddling with tech

You can use either device, I use Tactrix. Decision was mainly based on the fact that I was able to define (with RomRaider guys and Td-d's help) RAM logging addresses for my ROM before OFT had support for them, and I can apply whatever scaling I want to the parameters being logged.
I get logging of multiple parameters at 20-40Hz with Tactrix and process my logfiles in a batch quickly with MatLab. For hacking the ROM, either device pulls a ROM file that you can hack. If you're interested in poking through this with IDA, I have traced a few things in the ROM - a lot of indirectly referenced info is quite hard to find (for me). KPIT GNU tools are also useful for seeing how the Renesas chips process the indirectly referenced code. |

Ooh. Hahaha I get it now. Because for a bit I was interpretting it as him being just an asshole by trade.

Few things i have noticed is OP2 tactrix cable seems to be less reliable at connectivity. I have had it be troublesome to connect while OFT or ECUTEk connects fine. Also Tactrix OP2 can't log live. You can only look at what was logged after the fact which can't be dangerous if you run lean or start knocking. OFT is very slow at flashing but so is ECUTEK. OP2 tactrix is very fast about a min per flash.
