i have an auto frs
i love the auto frs i drove the manual frs it is a good frs now i drive a manual c30 t5 and i ABSOLUTELY FUCKING HATE THAT PIECE OF SHIT CLUTCH HOLY FUCK ITS FUCKING BAD with that said, BMW manuals are some of the best manuals i've driven. so, before you buy a manual car w.o ever driving a manual car: go to your local car rental shop with thy father (if you do not have a father, get a friend who drives stick), rent a manual car, and have yourself a wonderful 2-3 days of driving stick. then go test drive the twin. |

I only use dbl clutch for skipping gears when downshifting, or shifting into 1st when moving faster than 8mph. Of course you don't need to learn or employ the technique. But the whole point of driving a MT is for control and to be mechanically in tune with the car. It's a required technique to get a commercial drivers license, and should you ever blow a synchro ring, you might be able to get your car to the shop instead of calling a tow truck. |
