I learned to drive a stick shift on a ratty, green 1963 Corvair in the field behind our farm house. That was in 1969-70. That was the first in a long line of $50-100 dollar beaters that I drove throughout high school until I got a real job then joined the service. Counting them all up, I have owned just under 80 vehicles so far in my lifetime.

1988 samurai I won at the prom. Hit a bump it flooded over every time for the first week till I adjusted the floats. But if we are talking actual cars the frs is my first car as I've always owned trucks before. Still got 2 of my trucks and this car.

I miss it sometimes! It had a lot more cabin room than the FR-S, but I like the different platform. I'm a jeep girl at heart, though. I'll never be without one if I can help it!

'66 Ford Fairlane. Started out stock with 3 on the tree, built the 289 with some parts from the old man, 351 heads, Crane cam with solid lifters, Offenhauser high rise intake, Holley 760 dual feed, double pump carb, dual point, centrifugal advance distributer, Hooker headers, tranny with 4 on the floor and a Hurst shifter. Ending up dropping the engine into a '67 Mustang and sold them both shortly thereafter...big mistake!

It really doesn't matter how crappy your first car was there always seem to be good memories attached!
Guess a lot of that is the whole "glory days" thing.
