Hi I'm in the same situation as you

I'd like to know if the 17x8 +45 on 215/45/ 17 tires gave you any issues

Thanks

I havent purchased the wheels yet, but the cooper zeon website does say the 215 width will fit on an 8" wheel. That is the 'max' they recommend.

Hopefully this helps

Question about good tires and proper tire fitment 17x8

Hey all,

I'm going to be picking up some RPF1's this weekend that are 17x8 +44.

Have a few questions about what tires would be best to wrap them in:

What model can give me good added grip but keep the noise/comfort level in the cabin as close to the stock tires?

What's a good size that keeps the speedometer somewhat close to how it should be reading?

If it's at all possible to have these things and for the combo to have that "meaty" look......that would be epic.

Also, this car is my DD but will be seeing some autox and a few track events a year.

Any suggestions/help would be great.

Thanks!

Handling will be favored if you keep the tread width of the tire within +/- 1" of the wheel width, with the narrower part of that range being better. In this case, less is more (with all props to Gov. Jerry Brown ;-).

Search, this is talking about in like 100000 threads. GO to the RPF1 thread or the 17x8 RPF1 thread.

Question about good tires and proper tire fitment 17x8

245/40/17 is the closest to stock in overall diameter. I drive with Bridgestone RE11As. Can't notice any significant tire noise difference.

It's also a proper meaty setup.

Thanks for the responses guys. Seller of the RPF1's ended up willing to sell the tires he had wrapped on them with the wheels. Saved me a bit of cash as they have tons of life left in them.

Full setup now is:

White RPF1 17x8 +45
Hancook RS3's 245/40/17

Holy hell they are great

I'm having the same dilemma. I'm probably going to end up with a 17x8 wheel and it's down to choosing between the 225/45 and 245/40 Michelin PSS tires. The 245/40 fits better, and would look meatier, but it's also a lot more expensive. Don't know if it's worth the cost.
