If at all possible, I do want to go back to a custom launcher with resuming working fully. When I was testing, I had pretty sweet setup where the home button Apex, home in Apex went to Poweramp. When in PowerAmp, home went back to Apex.
Editing build.prop removes the overlay(screen with vertical rotary list of select apps) on top of launcher. Freezing the two CarHome apps allows you to remove the overlay and/or CarHome launcher í IIRC

Yes i guess that's true. Was just going with a general approach.

Custom roms can be flashed without a recovery, but overall, it's much safer to do so from a recovery.

OBD2 USB ADAPTERS

People successfully using a USB OBD2, can you please list the make, model and settings required? Is any adapter better than the other?

I've read every post of this thread (Over some time) but hasn't seen any direct relation to a specific adapter.

Currently using the Ca-Fi mini Bluetooth adapter but would like something with a better refresh rate.

Appreciate all the time and effort everyone has put in so far, this thread has been brilliant.

Sometimes it's days before I get an email back. Do they have a phone number for support?

Have you asked Ca-Fi directly about either of things? If not, ask for a phone number number. If they say no, then ask for a replacement unit. The worst that can happen is they say no again and continue troubleshooting.

They finally asked me to ship it back. I'm annoyed at how long this had taken so far. Plus it's going to take weeks to ship back, have them look at it, then either fix it or send a new one.

They will only reimburse the cost of doing it back if they find something wrong with it so I'm out of pocket what ever is going to cost me to send it back for a while.

So my car had been unusable for the past week because it's a pita to keep installing and removing the radio a few times a day to trouble shoot.

Wow, sending this back to Hong Kong cost $73. That was about the cheapest to send it back with a tracking number and insurance. Yikes.

After re-searching the thread, I've found examples of people using the ScanTool 425801 USB OBD2 adapter.

I also saw that someone was having trouble with this adapter and Torque. Anyone successfully using Torque with this adapter?

I have this setup and it works great. I had to fiddle around with some settings, but once setup, it's been super reliable.
