So someone backed into me in a parking lot and now I'm looking for an autobody shop that works with my insurance. I know Allard Collision seems to be highly recommended, but they aren't on my insurance companies list.
Does anyone with American Family insurance know of a good place in the east valley, preferably near Gilbert? This is my first real accident so this whole process is new to me. I was fully stopped and my car should have been very visible to him, so I have that going for me at least. He backed out of his spot while the back half of my car was behind his truck and the front half of my car was sticking out on his driver-side. I had just pulled up behind him and stopped at a junction in the parking lot and I'm guessing he had just finished looking to see if it was clear, had turned back to his wheel and put it in reverse, and just went. Nice guy it was just bad timing and he was in a tall truck and I of course small and low to the ground. These are some of the pics I provided to my insurance.![]() ![]() ![]() On the plus side, that dent is right below the deep scratch I was already thinking about getting fixed. Life is funny, I'm glad I hadn't done it yet because that panel would have just had to be repaired again. |

Usually you can get your own shop of choice to work on your car, you just have to meet with one of you insurance companies adjusters first. Then, your insurance company adjuster & the shop you want to work with, they take care of the rest & make it all work. That's what I did with mine.

As I recall, in AZ you can choose any shop you want no matter what your insurance tells you.

Yes. Legally, nation wide, you have the right to select any shop you want to service your vehicle. If, for some reason, you cant "Per insurance" get a lawyer... Suddenly you will get more covered using your preference shop and likely a larger settlement out of it
