Spacers with closed lugs - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Looking to get some 5mm and 12mm spacers, and will need extended studs. I'm also in Chicago, so I need to deal with road salt -- I want to avoid rusting out open lugs.

Is anyone using closed lugs with extended-stud spacers? I wonder if there's a place I can order studs to a perfect size, or if I'd need to go big and find a way to cut them down.

You can try the nismo studs, not sure if they'll be long enough for 12mm spacers though. They're between the length of stock studs and ARP studs.

Try Project Kics REVO 40s. They're extended open-ended studs but with caps (to keep gunk out of your threads). A few other mfgs are making these with caps as well.

Good idea, just cannot do this with 5mm spacers + ARP studs. Possible on 12mm, definitely OK with 15mm spacer.

The ARP studs extend around 7-10mm past end of R40.

I'm using some Muteki SR35 right now. Sounds like I'll need to find out the required length and hunt on ARP/etc. for comparable studs.

Do you want lugs, or studs? Any M12x1.25 lugs will work. If you're looking for the studs, not sure which ones are a direct fit, but Nismo definitely makes a set that works. I went with ARP instead.

i meant nismo studs. is it any stronger than oem brz studs? i read somewhere that they are about the same material

Hey, would you also know how much longer the arp studs are compared to stock? I've tried searching on google and mfgr sites but can't seem to find the numbers...or maybe I'm just not searching the right words

It's much longer, if I remember tomorrow I'll take a picture of stock studs next to a pack of new ARP studs.

If you need to run any spacer larger than what the ARP studs can accommodate, you're doing it all wrong... but to answer your question, in terms of length it's over 1" longer than stock.

well that's what i'm trying to avoid. im trying to find out what the largest spacer that would fit on the ARP studs is, so i can stay below that limit. thanks for the answer on it being over 1" longer. im trying to decide between 20mm or 25mm spacers and wasn't sure about the 25mm fitment. thanks!

I fit 20mm spacers perfectly fine with plenty of thread. If I were to guess, 30mm is the max with ARP studs.
