Bimmers literally all look the same. The E46 M3 was the last cool looking bimmer that I would actually own. But overall, they're styling doesn't do it for me. Sophisticated but boring. The new RC is pure pornstar!

Let's not get carried away now. The RC definitely looks good, but pornstar status is reserved for legends like the MR in your profile pic. |

I'm a big fan of Toyota/Lexus chassis design and reliability, just not a big fan of their engines since they retired the JZ family. I'd love to get an aluminum inline-6 from someone other than BMW (or TVR, even more expensive and less reliable than a BMW engine).

Thanks! The MR2 is quite the looker but this new RC-F has its sex appeal too. It's encouraging to see this sexy car make it to market. I don't even remember the last car out of Japan that looked this incredible besides our own frs/brz. NSX? It's definitely pornstar status in my books. This is such a breath of fresh air. The last Lexus SC was ugly as sin and anything rwd GT JDM wereall ugly too within the past decade... mainly all the Nissan/Infiniti products.

I think DOHC on street car engines didn't make a whole lot of sense in the 90s up to early 2000s where cars basically had very little timing adjustment capability. Honda was right in making the J35 SOHC. Porsche in particular seems to shoot for less power than GM in the first place which is a disadvantage to them because the "supporting component" mass is kind of constant. I imagine the 4.0L Mezger minus dry sump is only a hair heavier than the standard 3.4L-3.6L engines, but it has LS7 like power, so it's not totally put to shame. I recall its displacement can also be bumped up a bit. I have no sympathy for Ferrari, which has all the fancy gadgets you can think of tucked into their (big) engines, and Aston Martin is kind of incompetent at engine building.
