Impressive.....Really? Lexus has finally caught up to GM NA V8 power outputs from 2005. MotorTrend M4 vs RC-F: [ame]http://youtu.be/i9A3eY8PRtQ[/ame] Generally speaking I prefer the sound of an I6 but the M4 doesn't sound anywhere near as glorious as a JZ/RB so kinda disappointing still. I dunno why Toyota stopped building the IS-F in favor of this thing and potentially a new GS-F. Lexus reliability is pretty much the only selling point of this car. I'd rather have a Lexus IS sedan or a Toyota Mark X, then buy a Corvette C7 for the "NA V8 coupe" role.

In fact, this Lexus is more of an M series car than the M4, it's a Frankenstein, where the M4 now stands further away from it's little counterpart the four series then ever before. (Well, three series for past cases, but you know what i meant) Looking at Lexus, they didn't have to make this car, but i'm grateful they did.

The RC-F will not be easily tweaked and tuned by any means... To do anything more than exhaust, intake to the engine would require a considerable amount of money, and you'd most likely end up loosing all the usual amenities like AC and such.
at least this was the case with my last Lexus. and thats why I no longer drive one, because I like to tweak things. Lexus' are cars you make look nice(r) (newer yr 2006+) but dont do much to actual power. Aftermarket support will be extremely low, minus the typical coilovers, intake and exhaust and a bunch of overpriced lip kits.

GM's pushrod motors always made more NA power than their competition. But they were always panned for being rough and 'old tech' so they never really considered it a 'rival' motor since the most potent use of them were always in corvettes. They also always seemed to get better advertised highway gas mileage but no one bats an eye. They are good motors but no one wants to admit it since eveyrone's favorite car brands make DOHC engines. |

Lexus: why you so fat?
I wonder why Toyota hasn't jumped into the database bandwagon yet. Even Hyundai tried it (although not the best example) in the Veloster. 467hp is pretty impressive from a 5.0l V8, specially when you don't need 6.2l (~24% displacement increase) to get there... Loved the V8 sound... M4 sounds meh! |

No i was meaning the hardcore similarities of a run of the mill 3 series to a M3. It's not farther than ever. In fact, i'd argue they're not even the same car.

I don't care what you guys say, the RC-F is way more baddass! It's got the soft ride for comfort on the streets ahaha. The M4 may take it on the track, stock for stock, but my preference is this new Lexus V8 RWD sports GT
