well maybe if you read the thread, you would have read that pressing the button while moving does nothing, thanks for your concern though.

1. Why are you worried about kids in his car ? I doubt that EVER happens
2. The lady in his car is his GF, she know what the button does. Also, women are not stupid, nor are they ignorant to what an "engine start" button does. However you come across as incredibly ignorant for everything you said.
3. terrible for user experience? Sat in a SAAB or Lambo ever?

just and update on things i have coming up.

got and em wheel to wrap in alcantara.

also i decided on the cupholders that i will try to install. got a set of e90 cupholders that i plan to retrofit into the dash. one will come straight out on the right for passenger, the other will come out and bend towards the driver. hopefully they will fit and the airbag won't get too much in the way.

here is a schematic of the two cup holders:

what i'm thinking is i cut two slits in my dash trim, and i'll have that stitched around the cupholder, the face of the cupholders also comes off, so that will be wrapped to match so that when its pushed in, it matches the trim.

this will be done over winter so i don't know how long it will take.

also, an update for those of you who liked my straps. Jason (overland-designs.com) is currently working on a drop in kit for the BRZ/WRX/STI.

cheers.

I'm very interested in how you make out. That curved one doesn't look like it would fit in the dash, but I didn't make any careful measurements.

My friend has an Audi A4 and his slide out in the same way, but the whole assembly is very compact. I think I might look into those.
