Okay, I'll stop whining/ranting now.

And yes, I can understand there would be bad blood between Bungie/Microsoft but I guess I am naive enough to believe that a company or companies should set aside their personal issues to satisfy their most important asset, the customer. Oops, I think I just violated what I wrote above.

Anyway, did anyone else get the "Jackolyte" gift from the Messenger last night? I got three of them when I logged in for the first time last night.

Well, if I continue to play this game/franchise as it unfolds and if they continue to give the "exlusive" stuff upfront to the PS guys, I may be tempted in a year or so to just get a PS and let the Xbox become a hand me down to the girlfriend's kid.

With that being said and not to go off topic, is Halo 5 going to be exclusive to Xbox? I'm kind of curious to see how all that unfolds. I know Bungie has nothing to do with the Halo franchise anymore but I'm kind of wondering if 343 is taking notes right now on all the Destiny "complaints" and will try to upstage Bungie/Activision with the release of the new Halo game.

All the more reason to buy the superior console.

That aside, I'm not a fan of exclusive content at all. Or exclusive third-party games either. But these guys have bags of money to hand over, so it happens unfortunately. Microsoft gets the COD exclusives first, Sony gets the Destiny stuff.

I'm an xbox guy through and through, I ALMOST got a PS4 for this game instead of an X1. Sorta regretting not doing that now.

Forza 5 swayed me since all the other launch games were terrible. I'll probably still get a PS4 (probably for xmas this year) but I'm not restarting my character on a different platform after almost 100 hours invested into this one.

MS owns 343 now. Halo 5 will be awesome.

But it'll be hard to compare a traditional FPS to whatever the hell Destiny is (MMO?)

We as consumers shouldn't be punished for our preference and choice in product. This is not a debate on which console is "superior". It's a debate on the fact that you're paying the exact same dollar amount for the same game. There's a difference between prioritizing content, and content gating. We as consumers brushing this notion off as "oh it's just the way the market works now" is saying we're allowing the developers to get away with it.

So true, but how do you fight it?

It's all well and good to say "vote with your wallet" but everyone who bought Destiny on PS4 whether they knew about this or not just reinforced that this is a good way to do business.

The other option is boycotting the whole game which most people who were interested enough to care about this sort of thing would never do.

I'm real tempted by the Xbox One promo this holiday season. 350 bucks for the console and Sunset Overdrive sounds like a deal to me. And with all the trade in promos too, I started thinking "hmm, how often do I actually play my 360?" But I don't think I'll do it. I just have a feeling if I get rid of the 360 I'll regret it. Even if I did have Forza5 and Forza Horizon.

I'm not saying this with the intention to make you switch sides, but now that you have a hundred hours invested into one character and his or her associated stats, you can likely duplicate that in a small fraction of the time if you were to start over. If I picked up an Xbox One I'd sorta be tempted to get Destiny on it as well.... The better option obviously is that Sony and Microsoft allow you to play whatever character no matter what system you're on, since all of that information is stored on Bungie's servers anyway.

There doesn't seem to be much out there on Halo 5 yet. What have you heard or read? I've looked but haven't found much. Because of Destiny, I'm seriously considering getting the Halo: MasterChief collection when it comes out since I only played Halo 3 and never even finished it. I actually kind of got the impression, initially, that Destiny was going to be some kind of continuation of the Halo series, albeit in an indirect fashion since MS owns the rights to that franchise now. I guess I was wrong about that. It would be very ironic if Halo 5 outperformed the Destiny franchise. Like I said, 343 has to be taking copious notes right now on all the Destiny hoopla. A later entry into the market could be beneficial if cards were played correctly.
