HTA Turbo's
Hey guys probably my first thread in about 6 months typically I just browse in the back ground. However I've been shopping around for a new turbo recently. My generic garret 60-trim that came with my kit needs to be upgraded for my current goals. (500-600whp w/E-85). I've done a ton of reading and even some posting on this forum and other forums trying to decide which turbo would best suit my needs. I was pretty stuck between a BB PTE-5858, and GTX3076R. Until I remembered hearing about Forced performace and their HTA turbo's. Started doing some more research and loved what I found. I'm curious if anyone on here is running an HTA turbo on their twin? If not, why the hell not? Maybe someone has any experience with those turbo's on other platforms? Really leaning towards a gt3076HTA, if I can find a decent price.
http://store.forcedperformance.net/m..._Code=Turbo-FP Hope this might bring some new discusson to this section. |

I keep finding sources where the GTX is compared to the HTA and so far im seeing the HTA to out perform the gtx. Its hard to compare apples to apples with so many variables. But with how popular the Forced performance turbo's are with the subi and evo guys, im surprised no one uses them on the fa20

If i can find a good deal im trying to throw the HTA3076 on my setup but so far I can find one for less than 1900
My power goals need more than the average gtx28 so im hoping the HTA3076 is enough for 550-600whp |

Oh I see. what turbo are you running now? I skimmed your posts, and have you thought about a build thread? Are you still on the stock motor? and P.S. CBS BRZ+Tom's + Turbo is perfection.

Yea I need to make a build thread lol. I was planning on it after I got the car back. Right now an old journal bearing 60 trim that came in my kit. I made 406/323 with it at 16-17 psi but I just got forged internals and built heads so next big change is turbo and my fuel setup lol.
Thanks! The black is nice right after you wash it, other than that, wish I had a white one lol |

The EFR7163 is compaired to the GTX3076, so if anything the GTX28 and HTA68 wouldnt be a good comp to the 7163. FP Red would be better suit with the gtx3076 and the 7163.

Never updated this but I ended up going with a pte 5858. Almost direct fit with my manifold, and charge piping. Still tuning.

PTEs need to be rebuilt often in high boost appilications. My buddy is running 40+ psi on a 6466 and he rebuilds it twice a year otherwise it smokes like chimney. This hold true for all their BB turbos afaik, but they make power top end like no other

thats the price you pay for running such high PSI through any turbo setup. Eventually you get so good at it, you can rebuild it a lot quicker than you think.
