Agree and disagree at the same time.
Chrome is sortta a go big or stay at home kind of thing.
I am not talking chrome mirrors, door handles, side trim, etc but more balanced smaller amounts.
I like the stock tails but totally agree that they can look out of context.
Why two massive chunks of chrome in each corner without anything to tie them together?
The emblem and FRS badge are not really a bright chrome so they don't really count.

People actually like the stock tail lights? LOL. They look like the altezza crap everyone put on civics from 99-08, not to mention the red light up circles are ripped right from the tacoma

You mean I shouldn't go ahead with my plans for a 12 foot wing, lambo doors, tribal stickers, purple under glow and 8 inch stove pipe exhaust???

Yep they do look like some of the stuff put on old school Civics but at least they are not actually Civics.

Black them out and try them like that for a while before doing the tint. The blacked out reflectors look so good on some colors of the car that you may find you don't need the red after all.

You have a valid point (although I wish we had tasteful light pipes in the housing). I'd also be worried about the batch of LEDs used in these after market tail lights. I see more dead LEDs on after market head & tail lights than on OEM.

Car manufactures are stuck in the fifties, they still think chrome give an upscale look. At least cars don't have fins and whitewall tires anymore (waaaaaayyyy before my time -just making a point).

I agree with the OP...sort of. My biggest problem with the cars looks are the headlights and tail lights. But the stock ones look the best. All others (excluding the toms tails) are super ricey. I lightly tinted my headlights and redded out my tails on my whiteout and now I love them.

Personally I like the stock tail lights. The only thing I wish was different was the angle of the blinker. I wish the line followed the trunk line...

I don't understand why they designed it like that.
I also don't understand why things like that bother me as much as they do...

There are smaller things that bug people!
On here there are multiple threads on what to do about such major concerns as covering the safety labels on the visors, whether the emblems should be gloss or matt and how to program the head unit greeting message! I think my very favorite was a thread that got into a heated debate on if the tire valve stem caps looked better in black or chrome!
The problem is I read some of those and then something that I never even noticed before suddenly bugs the crap out of me. (Ya, thanks to the guys that made me notice the brake light in the window!)
Guess it just comes with being a "car guy".

I'll admit I was hoping that would happen to a lot of people when I posted earlier about the similarity between the Tom's tails and the VW Beetle stock tails. I'd love it if most of the Tom's owners suddenly said, "I can't unsee that now! I don't want no VW Bug tail lights!" and then immediately ran outside to take them off their cars, leaving me as one of very few who had them.

I agree, I live in oregon. RAIN! Only one of mine fills with water.
