I guess my only hope is to reformat again.

How large is the file? I can try having a look at it. I don't think reinstalling windows will help your problem.

Try downloading and installing the K-lite codec pack here: http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

and then try opening the file again. Do other videos that you have recorded on your GoPro open correctly?

Might want to try running scan disk and disk repair just in case

Me and pauline also drove Through downtown tonight. We should all go back to the way things were before this. Maybe as Paul said a couple extra guards at the entrance to parliament hill but part of what makes our parliament hill is that it is inviting to all and not a heavily militarized zone. We can't lose our identity as a nation of being peaceful and trusting people because a few would like to harm us. It also sounded like in harper's speech that this could be used to make new laws similar to the US where people could be detained before doing anything and I feel this is a mistake you can't condemn someone before they commit a crime. I guess we'll see how this all unfolds!

I'm just having trouble considering our country as a nation of peace when we've been supporting the war on terror for 13 years now. I support these fight, but we must understand that we can't always fight and never expect retaliation...

i have 30-40 files and none work.. installed codecs and still not working.
Long story short I have a computer that I needed to reformat to gain access to. I didn't have original windows disc so I made a backup from a friends copy. His copy is obviously not the same version because my computer serial key didn't match up. After a couple months computer went into safe mode or whatever and I was never able to save pictures or download anything. The other day I put the cd key from the windows disc I used and now I can install flash and other things but I still have this issue. It's weird because saturday night when I put some of the go pro vids they worked fine. Then Sunday after our cruise I started getting this error.

Agreed.

As far as the new laws go - don't we already have something similar to the USA's Patriot Act?
Edit: Anti-Terrorism Act is what it's called.

What you would you guys think of doing a cruise through downtown this week to pay our respects? im not sure where a good stopping point would be, but could be our way of saying something, Id find a Canadian flag to dress my car with too. These people will not have me living in fear!

Would anyone be up for a November 2nd cruise downtown, end up at the war memorial for photo shoots, Id ask everyone to leave a donation with the cruise towards the museum, ( 20$ each should be okay? ) I am speaking with someone from the museum trying to organize, I would like to see a good number of us to make this work.
Let me know if you are interested.

We should donate what we wish.
My participation depends on the weather - unless you want a Yaris in snows in your midst

That's a good thought Chris

Given the fact that the reservist was a single father taking care of a 6 year old son who"s birth mother abandoned them. My family has decided to give directly to the boy when his family makes a donation possible. Being a father, I understand and can appreciate the colossal loss that my son would feel if I was to pass. That little boy has endured enough hardship in his young life and I can only imagine the emptiness and fear he is currently feeling. The least any of us can do is to help relieve the financial burdens of growing up in Canada and to give this little guy a fighting chance.
