Same belt, The tensioner has plenty of range, belt will still be tight on a smaller pulley.

Apologies if this has already been answered (too many pages to read), but anyone here using the non-IC kit, under high temp conditions? Such as ambient temps of around 100-110F? With 91 octane fuel? Would appreciate some feedback....
I see so many guys in here running the non-IC kits, but this isn't an option for us in Australia as they only sell the intercooled versions. I've been advised that non-IC isn't suitable for our market, but I wanted to explore this further. |

I only have the non-intercooled kit for couple of months now and I live in Saudi Arabia which I assume is very hot. I noticed a drop in power once the intake temp climp above 100F as the tune start to pull timing once the intake temp increase. So usually I dont go full throttle in these temps. I try to keep my full throttle injoyment for early morning drives when temp is around 80 F and saving to get the intercooler ASAP. I only got the non intercooled because I was offered a very good price from a local dealer to take it from his shelf. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It would be alright in the Perth winter like coldest of winter, summer no chance at all the heat soak with the IC kit is just manageable on the track. On the street it would be alright but if you wanted to have fun it would pull timing etc pretty quick.

I have to go back and edit my post, but I just wanted to make a quick note of whoever decides to use the brass fittings I had posted a while back for the elbows on the back of hte supercharger to use a 5/16 barb NOT a 1/4 barb for the evap line.

Innovate (Sprintex) Supercharger Owners Topic
@Fizz I'm currently running the non-IC kit on 91oct here in California. I definitely noticed the heatsoak during daily driving this past summer with 100-110F weather. Stop and go traffic also really sucked. Under normal temps (70-90F) it runs fine but I feel that the intercooler is necessary for consistent power and less heatsoak. Still not as bad as a turbo setup though... esp. w/o the proper cooling/supporting mods on the track. Hope this helps. Why do you say the non-IC is not suitable for your market?
@poorsche Running the JDL UEL right now and definitely noticed more power down low and in the midrange. I was also considering the Revworks UEL and Nameless header but got a good deal on the JDL with matching OP & FP. I'm looking to get a dyno tune once I get the IC & 69mm pulley on and will report back with data. Last edited by J.C.; 10-21-2014 at 01:18 PM. |
