Did you wash it recently?

I have a 2013 FRS and the steering wheel gets sticky any time I wipe it down with water or cleaner of any type. Took about 2 months to go back to not being sticky at all.

You all made me nervous, therefore I picked up some Mechanix gloves for driving usage, lol.

You don't think the steering wheel should peel if I use these as driving gloves, right?

(I know, I'm weird!)

Does this even happen with the 2015s? I highly doubt they even addressed it or noticed it, as it's easier to just say it's a wear item, then implement a new material/coating/fabrication process on all vehicles steering wheels.

I don't think they've made any changes to the steering wheel since, unless they somehow squeezed it in unofficially (I'm not counting on it).

I had a '13 FR-S and drove it for 10k miles before I gave it up... Did not notice any peeling at all. If several folks are experiencing it, then it must be a legit issue.

Hope Toyota and Subaru are viewing this so that they can place attention to this matter.

If it happens on my incoming '15 down the road... You'll likely see me posting pictures on this thread. I'll keep my fingers crossed and will try not to worry about it.

I think it's simply the nature of their cheaper/thinner material, if it had a more durable solid backing it'd be fine, but hey more of an excuse to get a cusco steering wheel replacement right?

Beats me... Everything feels of high quality to me, especially the car being made in Japan and all. Maybe just a sensitive material.

You're right on the excuse.
