As for the Lightning Lap - like most drivers recommend, test drive both cars and make your own decision before trusting auto-journalist lap times to make your decision for you. Someday you too can move from forum-hero to responsible driver. |

Point is that the review should really be comparing POWER/WEIGHT ratios of these cars.
Power ratio between the cars is ~3:2 mustang, but P/W ratio is ~6:5 mustang. Then again showing the mustang only beats the BRZ by a second on the track looks more impressive when just comparing power numbers. Question: What performance parts came with the mustangs 30,830 as tested price other than what seems like much better than stock tires? Was it some sort of track pack? |

-strut tower brace -larger front sway bar and SVT rear sway bar -unique front springs -unique front and rear calipers with performance friction pads -19-inch painted al wheels -255/40R19 summer tires (Pirelli P-Zero) -Unique traction control programming -Gloss black side mirrors -3.31 rear axle -Unique engine cover (MT only) The color is also a $495 option. Other than that I'm guessing it was interior options that got it over $30k. Usually the press cars are loaded up with nice features. Looks like it is the "mustang club of america" package which adds a bunch of appearence options but no performance upgrades. The MSRP of the mustang club package with perfomance package and gotta have it green comes to $30,675. |

And there you have it, Randy Pobst says the "engine's happy at high revs, but wouldn't say it's like a Honda VTEC" hahaha.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes ![]() 167 each thats almost 200 bucks less... my tires would have to go out in 5000 miles to get better value per set... lol quote from tire rack Initial Review, 1,008 Miles on Tires April 29, 2012 I'm in love with these tires. At the skidpad, I was able to hit 1.28 G's, and it might have been higher, as the Corvette G meter maxes out at 1.28 G's. Awesome tire that I will definitely purchase again. I rated the "WET" portion of this review as 5, as I haven't had the opportunity to drive with these tires in wet conditions and normally don't drive the Corvette in the rain.

that was a very fun video to watch. the thing that really impresses me about the BRZ compared to the mustang was how much easier it looked to drive. i'd hazard a guess that if you took 10 decent (but not great) drivers, 6 or 7 of them would get quicker lap times in the BRZ than the mustang, especially if you were to even out the discrepancy in rubber...
