It appears that the 'Twins' were proposed to DS as well?

Sometimes following the FastTrack labels is tricky, and you might have caught it appropriately, but it's still odd:

When this says "suggested", just consider it a done deal. This is the SEB suggesting it to be ratified by the BOD. I wouldn't ever put money on the BOD overruling the SEB's suggestion

Similar vein, I wouldn't use the word "proposed" because of potential confusion. A lot of this is on the SCCA for not controlling language better than they do, but volunteers and yadayadayada...

The SEB/SAC should be the only ones proposing, though they use the wording "submitted for feedback". So people write letters that are "proposing", and a lot of it is pretty nonsensical. Should one dude's brainvomit really be considered a proposal?

They really should standardize. It's a request from letters. It's a proposal from the Committees for the membership to give feedback. The SEB is presenting the following rules referrals to the BOD (don't feel great about this, but suggestion sure doesn't sound as strong as the motion really is).

Yeah the twins to DS was turned down.

Another one in there was this:

The SAC recommends a new listing in B-Street, as follows:
Toyota
FRS RS (2015)

Not surprising they kicked the RS model up a class to BS where it will be completely uncompetitive.

GTR to SS may end up being popular, the earlier models can be picked up now for $50-60K.

The RS is purely cosmetic, and other than the aero, nothing about it is out of regulation.

the only difference that I could forsee a complaint about are the lowering springs. And that would have to be one anal dude to protest lowering springs.

It's too limited in its numbers and lowering springs do count as a performance enhancement unlike a lot of other things. If someone showed up in CS with a FR-S/BRZ on lowering springs, I wouldn't consider someone protesting it to be "anal" by any means.

The SCCA allowed through some limited edition models before and got burned by it, will never happen again.

My stepson has the RS. It's significantly lower than my stock FR-S; just from eyeballing it looks like around 0.75". I haven't seen any specs on spring rates, but they should be correspondingly stiffer as well.

The problem you'd run into at the National level especially is simply if that car is any faster, even a tenth or two, it's the twin to have. So now you'd have 30+ CS twins at Nationals that are all in the wrong car. Sure only 10 of those guys likely care enough, but all you need is the perception and it can all go downhill in a hurry. RS in c-street would not mean normal twins moved to a slower class. B-Stock saw this happen with the CR.

Its the same reason the S2000 CR is in AS and the normal S2000 is BS now.

Seems to be that that line in ASP is the craziest line ever. Have there ever been so many update/backdate options?

I had been thinking of a real ESP build... obviously not anymore.

I actually really want to keep going with the WRX more than the BRZ at this point, and I may end up going back to school which means selling the BRZ and keeping the WRX.

The AWD cars have been on the ESP chopping block for years and winning nationals the last two years kind of sealed it even though the margins weren't very much. Overall there are only a few people seriously building and driving them vs a bunch of people driving American V8s. A STi won ASP last year no reason a WRX with an STi engine couldn't.

The engine swap from a STI to a WRX I don't think is allowable in the update/back date rules. They see them as 2 different cars. It would throw you into SM. That being said the WRX weights a bit less and would have good spool time, they might still fair well.

They put the WRX and STI on the same line in ASP for 2015.
