Could you take a picture further out I'd like to see if it becomes the center point of the cabin, been thinking about doing this. I love your setup.

okay, so here are photos of the latest upgrade to the interior. still not real photos, just my iPhone, i just don't have the time to go to a good location and shoot the car. I finally put in my oil temp/pressure gauges in the pod that made myself. its not PERFECT, but i'm really happy how it came out, i've never made anything like this before. and you get a better idea of the interior as a whole.

so i'm thinking...matte black knob?

also, here are photos from the discussion above, see, there is literally no room to put the button, it it simply too long, and that metal box or w/e it is is in the way, and its not something that looks like that can be easily removed.

They WELDED it in place???? Dammit. I still want to put it there but it's going to require a lot more looking in there and that'll have to wait until after my shoulder surgery.

Shift boot looks great, and to be honest I think the stock knob actually looks pretty good there. I would consider doing a red shift boot but feel as if it only looks good because of the rest of the interior being blacked out!

If there is one thing I'd point out is that the handbrake button is a shiny black kind of looks out of place compared to the matte finish of everything else. The perrin button might be a good replacement if you want something less shiny.

i actually do plan on switching that, along with the reverse lockout, and also i have to figure out something for the silver trim on the HVAC. i know there are knobs for sale, but they look cheap and do not cover up all the silver. i'm thinking i have to paint this...

okay so after driving a cayman this weekend for a while, i realized i don't have any fucking upholders

i hate having the armrest up, and coffee doesn't go well into the door.

so i'm thinking about putting the cayman upholders into the dash. but i'm afraid it won't fit and be too long.

so my next best option is something like the Volvo or range rover pop out cup holder, or SAAB style.

anyone think or find anything let me now...or if anyone can photoshop a black cayman trim into my dash picture that would be awesome.

That is the same issue I'm running into. I moved my Start button to the same place you did, but I really think I want to figure out a way to put it into the dash to the left of the head unit and mount a cup holder where the button is. Unfortunately I think it will require an aftermarket head unit since that will be 20mm narrower and it looks like I will need every bit of that.
