XXR 527 Matte Bronze - Are yours chipping?

After about a month of owning these wheels mine started to chip. It's been 6 months now and all 4 wheels are chipped pretty badly. I contacted Next Level Motoring last week about the issue and I got a response. The guy said "we sell tons and tons of these wheels in that finish with almost no issues at all". I'm not saying he's lying...maybe not that many people are contacting them about it since the wheels are so cheap. I just gave him my experience with the wheels and sent a picture and am waiting on a response. I created this thread to get a head count of who has chipping. Maybe if it is documented somewhere, XXR will fix their production issue.

Never exposed to fluids or chemicals of any type, washed only with Meguiars car wash soap (and spit for this picture :-B). The wheels have never seen salt or temps below 60F.

I can send them back for replacement but shipping is on me, as well as the cost to unmount then re mount and balance. I have until April to decide.

No, I am sending them out this winter to get powder coated as I originally planned. I sent the email out of curiosity to see what they would offer. It'll probably cost over $100 to ship them back, $30 to dismount tires, $75 to mount and balance tires, plus the hassle of it all and the fact it'll probably just end up chipping again with the new set, it's just not worth the warranty swap.

My friend with a Ford Focus had the same problem with his XXR's. The customer service is a joke, they said there was a chance they might not even return his payment if hedid send the wheel to them and pay his own shipping.

Cheap wheels, what do you expect?

I know, they are cheap but still, they can at least make the paint stick to the metal.
