I'll probably feel like it's about time to trade it in anyways so good time for them to upgrade it.

lol

I hadn't even thought of the Toyota Highlander. I was just having fun with the exclusivity argument.

I feel the same way the OP feels about the headlights and fogs. They spice up the car.

I remember one time I was having lunch in a cafe, and an elderly couple pulled up in the cleanest 1st gen MR-2 I've ever seen, that was definitely "special." Any car will be what you make it.

OP sounds like a spoiled kid who always has to have the latest toy.

I will think "Cool. In a few years when I trade this in, I'll get that."

I honestly feel the brz will age slightly better (headlights, front bumper) and will retain a wow factor more so then the frs because more enthusiast type people (and older people because Subaru isn't aimed at the youth like the frs is) I feel will get their hands on the brz (due to limited production) and won't be modded as ricy as the young fr-s buyers will so in the long run will gain more appreciation. This car seems like it is something special so I will always respect the car no matter the production numbers or age.

The only so-called affordable sports car that has survived is the Mazda MX-5. It's a classic roadster, based on the old British roadster. My fear is that the toyobaru is based on the Dodo, like the Celica, Supra, MR2 and the S2000. All these cars have failed. The toyobaru doesn't look like an instant classic, like the Focus RS, and the way the BRZ got it ass handed back to it by the Megane RS was embarrassing. Also, Honda Civic beat the Toyota 86 in the VLN 4hr Nurburgring race. This has been kept very quite indeed!!! So the toyobaru suffers from a crippling power shortage and the fact that you need to rev the hell out of the engine, to 5000 rpm and above, to get any kind of performance out of it, suggests it's a fatiguing drive. I mean the Evo test driver could only barely overtake the stupid Golf and the engine note was disgraceful!! Now compare that to the majestic Focus RS note and you'll see what I mean!

For me, the alarm bells are ringing loud and the charm is rapidly wearing off. The MX-5 seems to be the better option for me. It's the classic affordable sports car, with all the charms of a roadster

I think you're just trolling at this point. A brand new platform came in 3rd and 4th in an endurance race and you're acting like it's the next JFK assassination? Did you care to notice that the Civic also beat a S2000? Guess the S2000 is junk too. Have you never seen an endurance race? I'll clue you in, results are TEAM oriented, not car oriented.

Hell, if you want to go with your logic, the GT-86 is a better car than the Civic Type-R (TWICE as good), BMW 320SI, and the S2000.

Really. If you don't like the FRS/BRZ then don't get one. I don't see the issue here. The only reason why I can possibly see that you're still here is because you want to troll. Just go back to your Focus forums.
