Take our comment as only a grain of salt and nothing more. Just test drive whatever you think you wanna buy and go from there. Not worth asking "should I buy this car?" Specially this car. Reading all the spec, mods & actually driving is two different things. Some people get it, some people don't. Is it bad that they don't? Nope, it wasn't their cup of tea, that's all. |

Let me tell you, this car hasn't disappointed in the fun factor! I'm at 60000 km and still love it. I've driven it on long road trips > 5k each, and it had no issues and was lots of fun and plenty of room for stuff. Also, as an extra incentive it gets great gas mileage for road trips.
And it's the best bang for the buck for a brand new sports car. |

My regret is not waiting and buying a high mileage used one for a lot less to build off of then a brand new one, because all mine sees is auto x, lapping and car shows.

Big Bang for the Buck
I just got my BRZ Limited and test drove the FRS and Genisis coupe before buying although the genisis coupe drove faster I didn't like the shifting nor handeling as well. It did ride better and was roomier and more comfortable. I went for the BRZ limited over the FRS simply for personal choice. For handling and economy (averaging 28.5 mostly city under 2K on odometer) it puts a grin on my face every time i get in it!

I'm fresh out of college with no student loans, got a entry level position in my field of study and bought a 2015 WRB BRZ Premium. Why premium? Because I couldn't justify the extras that would realistically be +$3k out the door (Tax, title, etc included). I wanted my monthly payments to be managable (preapproved at my CU with lowest APR) with my current lifestyle that includes frivilous spending on Electronic Dance Music festivals and my girlfriend.
This is my 3rd car, i had a 1995 Toyota 4Runner in highschool and a 1997 Acura CL 2.2 in college. My CL literally died on me the day I decided to pull the trigger and talk hard numbers at the dealership. I had the opportunity to buy a lightly modified AP1 s2000, but being my BRZ to be brand new and unmolested, versus new-to-me. I have fun every time I get in the car and find myself constantly grinning taking corners. Do i wish I had a little instant pep when I put the pedal down like the VTEC i was used to? Sure. Maybe I'll go FI when my warranty is up. *ninja edit* Friends would tell me to go WRX or STI, because turbo AWD, but I've never had a car with power. So any power whatsoever is power to me. My infatuation with this car started 2 years ago, and that was based on looks alone at first. Everyone tried to push me to go Series.Blue or limited, but in the end I went base BRZ because 1) didn't want to pay extra for things i'd remove/replace (sparing AC/Push to start), 2) not a scion because I'm a brand whore like that 3) I get a very bare canvas to really make unique (or look like 100s of other peoples' cars on here... lol). In the end, it's your money. This car was well worth mine. |

Dumbest research ever.
"the only other cars to consider would be 370z, genesis, mustang." Why not just go test drive them all and pick for yourself?

Give it a shittier interior, add $10,000 to the price but put a Lotus badge on it and it would still be viewed as a good value...

I've got a 13 BRZ and my wife has a 13 GC. Both nice cars, but the BRZ fits like a glove and continues to fit like a glove through the turns. The GC has a nicer interior as far as amenities are concerned, but it drives like a pig through the turns and it just doesn't "fit" well. Power is comparable as my BRZ is boosted. Without that, the GC walks away easily in the straights. Can't speak to the Mustang, I haven't driven one since the 67. I've heard nice things about the current V6 though. Lol really? "dumbest research ever"? There is only so much a test drive reveals and the last thing you want to go by is what the sales guy say. RESEARCH comes from pushing the car and talking to people have owned/used the cars. It's when the cars gets put to an actual test... not all of which can be done on a test drive. For example... is there really a gain in performance with grippy tires? Can the engine actually be boosted? Is the build quality of the car actually good? The kind of analysis Savage Geese did in his films. I have driven an frs before... It's nice at w.e I could do with the sales guy in the car with me.... |

I am thinking serieblue because there is not too big a difference in price if u can find a good deal and u get leather seats and aero kit. Also keyless entry is cool lol and heated mirrors help during the rain. I don't plan on modifying this car aesthetically much. Somewhere down the road... I might want to give it a light driveshaft pulley etc My first ever mod might just be grippy summer tires.... |
