Are these cars worth the money?

This is unbias/blunt answer.

Drive GC, Focus, WRX, MS3, Mustang, Camaro & Miata first... THEN test drive the twin. If you don't like it, go buy other ones that I've listed. Don't waste your time, money or energy to make whatever you wanna make This car to be. Cuz in reality, you won't , when you're asking those question.

I am not talking pure hp numbers....

but overall performance. People say the twins are the best below the Cayman... Can you completely agree to that statement and bet your money on it?

Just drive it and decide if it is worth it to you. Who cares what everyone else thinks.

Some people think a Viper is too slow, or a Lexus LS is not luxurious enough...its all subjective

I ask because I haven't had the opportunity to drive many another cars let alone go on a spirited drive with one of them. My current car is a 4cyl auto Camry from 2001... So the twins would be a huge upgrade for me.



I ask because I am finally actually planning to buy one... and I just want be sure that this would be the right buy for me and my hard earned money. I am primarily looking at new cars because among warranty and peace of mind... This would be the first car I ever bought and I want it to be something good. I love the idea of this car. I love the way it looks. I just want to be sure its all there.





I mean at this price range the only other cars to consider would be 370z, genesis, mustang. I have done the next bed thing to driving them and that is I have watched/read several reviews. Neither of those look as great. Not all of them supposed handle 10/10ths of the way.





Yea, I wish I could drive all these different cars all day to help decide.

Follow ichitaka's post. Others opinions aren't what should make your car choice.

I'd also say that since your posting on the brz side... While everyone has their opinion on brz vs frs I will say as an owner of my breezy for 2 years, I would have no problem picking up the base frs and saving the $4-6k difference I had spent. I'm happy with my BRZ and pig-headedly didn't consider the FR-S because 'scion brah.' The differences don't bother me now as much as they did especialy after you change everything modding anyways given the vast amount of aftermarket parts anyways.

I think you're buying into whatever the internet is telling you, considering you've spent a year planning out all your mods and getting opinions on what you want to do on the car you have yet to purchase.

Is it worth the money? I don't know, give me your money and let me spend it, I'll let you know how much of your money this car is worth.

In all seriousness, just get a Cayman. Seems like that's all you compare the car against.

Do not confuse performance car with sports car. Any car can become a performance car. Take a family sedan or hatch, stick a turbo to the engine, lower the suspension, replace originals with larger wheels and fatter tires, fix a spoiler to the boot, add stripes or stickers, and of course add "GT" or "Sports" to the name. That's how car manufacturers cut development costs by using a shared platform.

The twin is a purpose built sports car - not a performance or sporty version of another car. In that sense, I consider it to be a true sports car. A sports car which you can buy new without breaking the bank.

No. I do not have "absolutely no idea". I have a very good idea but I want to be absolutely sure of my choice and hear what other people have to say (reviews ) about the car one last time before I commit.

I am sure people do all kinds of shit. When I mentioned a sports car... I can confidently say that the BRZ was the best all-around choice among the bunch, at least for my needs. If I replace it with anything the car will have to cost at least twice as much, i.e. BMW M4, Alfa Romeo 4C, Porsche 911 997, Aston Martin DB9.

You're totally missing the point, there's no way in hell that my car is objectively faster than either of those cars that cost 2x-4x as much with much more performance oriented build. I was totally stock, I was also passed by an NA Miata that day which would have been a better mention than the Cayman.

Spend the money, enjoy it for a few months then a year or two down the road complain about how you lost a drag race to a minivan, turbo it and beat on it until it blows up or you realize you're still lapping slower than an STI, used Cayman, or Mustang GT for equal money and sell it and buy one of those. At least that seems to be the path ~10% of owners take.

I am not trying to make this car into anything. I don't have the knowledge, time or money to do such a thing properly. I haven't owned any of the cars you have listed. Savage Geese did a great review of this car. That is the kind of information I am looking for or rather looking to reaffirm. Owners of the car can tell me if this car delivered on its promise.... what their journey has been like with or without mods.
