Cool. Let me know how it feels with the changes you've made.

Gotcha on the rears...that's a bummer.

RCE T0 are a great choice and work well for track and auto-x. If you know they're in the plans then I would start with them as that will be the most dramatic change. You may like them without changing bars at all.

One note, a hardcore, dedicated, nationals level STX car may not be ideal on the track. BUT a well set-up track car will still be pretty quick for auto-x.

Great observation! Yet some of the oil and engine coolant issues that work for track are not permitted in an STX spec'd car. An oil cooler, radiator upgrade or vented hood places one into a prepared class.
I wish to run a reliable track fun machine without whacking high temps and play for fun in an occasional local autox. So maybe I can trade my STX letters to someone with a P something.

If you're not looking to be competitive in an autoX class, and the car is primarily a track machine, I'd build it for your needs at the track and just have fun in whatever autoX class you end up in.

Did 8 laps of autocross this weekend and my Michelin PSS are chunking and look like shit. They only have 6k miles with 0 autox or track days. They're 225s mounted on the stock wheels and TRD springs (only suspension mod). Is the tire wear from a lack of negative camber on the front? Can that cause a tire to fall apart in chunks?

Will camber bolts give me enough negative camber or should I just spend the extra money for plates?

I also ended up with a flat after 8 runs There was no nail in the tire just a puncture hole.

Have you guys gotten your hands on a 2015 FRS or BRZ? I'm very curious to hear about the differences in shock tuning and spring rates. Thanks!

A buddy of mine used to run PSS on his VW GTI (a front wheel drive without adjustable camber, and minimal camber).

Granted, he autocrossed those tires and daily drove them for nearly 6 months or so, but after an autocross school, he had chunking also.

I'm wondering if the PSS just can't handle extended autocross runs in a day (you had 8, he had 20-ish, but they were chunked before that). Maybe they need some spray-cooling?

I bought a decent 2 gallon spray bottle at Lowe's for about 10 or 20 bucks. After 4 runs on a high speed (had to go into 3rd a couple times) autocross course with 90+ second times, I had no signs of chunking on my MPSSes with using the sprayer.

is he a fast driver or mid-pack?

most FWD autocrossers abuse their fronts like no tomorrow, using too much steering input and really putting lots of heat into their fronts by scrubbing speed before hammering down and glazing them with acceleration.

it's a very fine line, and easy to cross in a FWD car, esp a nose heavy one like a VW (I had one)

So the B16 fits our cars, does the B16 ride control? I'd love a button to go from DD comfort to back road afficienado...

That's good info. I wonder how you would answer the question below though...

He is consistently FTD for GS and top 20 on PAX (out of 150ish). That's probably mid-pack on a National event though.
